(A RANT)Le Worm - Insults the UK again & Africa

(BBC) Tony Blair has refused to be drawn into a diplomatic row after the French president reportedly made insulting remarks about British food. Jacques Chirac joked with German and Russian leaders: “One cannot trust people whose cuisine is so bad.”

As the G8 summit nears, Mr Blair said: “The G8 is going to focus on really important issues and to be quite honest I’m not going to disparage anybody.”

Mr Chirac also reportedly said Britain had the worst food after Finland. Mr Blair was asked to comment on remarks attributed to President Chirac while he was in Singapore to boost the chances of London being awarded the 2012 Olympics.

He was asked if relations with France would damage London’s bid and the G8 summit in Scotland later this week but the prime minister declined to give a definite answer. “Particularly at this moment I don’t want to get tempted down that path,” Mr Blair said.

** Don’t stoop to Chirac’s level. In fact, it would be hard to get down to that level unless you stepped off the sidewalk into the gutter and crawled under a snake’s belly. Slimey French Worm! En Garde! Vouse etes merde! (As the French say in their dying language)

In fact it amazes me that we have actually allied ourselves with those people. We work and they want our money to keep lazy French farmers in nice fat euro cheques. When I stopped buying French(spit) goods some 10 years ago, people said I was a bit extreme and the more I see of that Nation and its slithery leader the more I realise that I was right.

The other thing is the leaders of some African nations taking the piss out of the West. Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo wants perminant seats on the UN council, and all of Africas debts written off without any conditions. Come on, you need to earn that. Show the west you can establish clear Government and we wont mind pouring money into your countrys. But do what one African leader did a while back and buy a bigger jet when ol Gordon Brown wrote off some debts and we will get a tad pissed off.

(BBC) Leaders at the African Union summit in Libya are preparing to release a final declaration expected to appeal for the continent’s debts to be wiped out. They are also likely to call for fairer terms of trade with the West, while stressing their desire for better governance and transparency. The meeting ends a day before the G8 summit of the world’s richest nations.

On Monday, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi told other African leaders to “stop begging” for Western charity.

But the final declaration is likely to urge the G8 to end all $350bn of African debt, not just the $40bn planned. The statement will also see a call for Africa to be given two permanent seats on the UN Security Council - although how the two posts will be allocated remains undecided. African Union chairman and Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo told the 53 delegates the continent was moving from a past of military coups to a future of good governance.

Mr Obasanjo, who will be attending the G8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland, called for “massive” financial help from the West and to expand debt relief for Africa. “This is not the time for a lot of talk but more of a time for serious and concerted action,” he told the gathering in the town of Sirte. The BBC’s Mike Donkin says the meeting in Libya has also been about proving to hopefully committed Western partners that African leaders will honour their side of any future bargain.

Mr Obasanjo’s remarks contrasted with those of Col Gaddafi, who said Africa should refuse all conditional aid and some offers of help from former colonial powers. In a 30-minute speech which received muted applause from African leaders, the Libyan leader said: “We are not beggars at the doorsteps of the rich."
