Work - And My Ex Employer Proves Yet Again They Cannot Master The Simplist Of Tasks. (And why no comment from PETA?)

Well its actually pretty damn cool to go to work and not have that feeling of dread every time I wake up on a work day. Indeed the lack of petty backbiting, incompetance and the like it is truely refreshing to go a place of employment where that doesn't take place.

Anyway talking of my previous employers. It appears that they overpaid me a few hundred quid(very nice of them to be fair) and I recieved a request for me to sign to get the whole lot back to them.

Now as I was lacking the readies to do this at the time, I wrote and asked for them to amend the d.d so I could pay a lower amount each month. Not a problem says the woman I spoke to on the phone.

Now I get a letter through requesting I send them a cheque each month as due to my account not being with Ltsb they can not do that? Yet they could for the full amount? Bizarre to say the very least. So I have written back to them and advised them to sort this out, as I dont own a cheque book, nor am I getting one in order to resolve their admin error. After all why should I as the recipiant of their incompentance have to spend my time dealing with my bank in order to resolve an error that Lloyds caused in the 1st place? Especially as I was told on the phone that amending the amount was easily done.

Here we are at the start of the 21st Century and Lloyds Tsb are saying that they can not sort out a simple d/d. Indeed I think that speaks volumes about the company.

Insurgents in Iraq attached explosives to a dog and tried to blow up a military convoy near the northern oil centre of Kirkuk. The canine bomb went off but the only casualty was the unfortunate animal, said police. The militants wrapped an explosive belt around the dog and detonated it as the convoy passed through Dakuk, 25 miles south of Kirkuk, said the town's police chief, Col Mohammed Barzaji. "The dog was torn apart by the explosion which caused neither injury among the soldiers nor any damage." Col Barzaji said the bomb had been detonated outside a Shia mosque. "Eight suspects have been detained."

This was not the first time that animals have been used in insurgent attacks. In 2003, donkey carts were used to conceal makeshift multiple rocket launchers in a flurry of attacks in Baghdad. Animal carcasses and human corpses have been used to conceal explosives.
