Lily Allan talks shyte post 80 billion or somesuch:(filesharing)

Lily Allen attacks Radiohead and Pink Floyd stars over file sharing.
Writing on her Myspace blog, the 24-year old singer argued that “music piracy” was killing the music industry, making it harder for new acts to make a name for themselves.

“I think music piracy is having a dangerous effect on British music, but some really rich and successful artists like Nick Mason from Pink Floyd and Ed O’Brien from Radiohead don’t seem to think so," wrote Allen.

In a recent article in The Times, both artists had supported file sharing, along with the Featured Artist’s Coalition.

O’Brien said: “File sharing is like a sampler, like taping your mate’s music. You go, ‘I like that I’ll go and buy the album’. Or, ‘you know what I’ll go and see them live’. What’s going on is a huge paradigm shift.”

But Allen argued: "These guys from huge bands said file sharing music is fine. It probably is fine for them. They do sell out arena tours and have the biggest Ferrari collections in the world.”
“For new talent though, file sharing is a disaster as it’s making it harder and harder for new acts to emerge.”

She added: “I don’t think what’s out there is perfect. It’s stupid that kids can’t buy anything on the internet without credit, forcing them to steal Mum’s credit card or download illegally”.
In a word bollocks, total fucking bollocks with added horse cock thrown in for good measure. If people are going to steal they will, no amount of talking, passing stupid cut them off the interweb laws will stop them.

Folk swapped tapes and copied LP's back in the good old days before the magical internet and Napster came along, thanks to better technology they can now steal if they choose ever more music. No amount of snivelling on the part of Ms Allan will stop that, however most people are honest and like to buy music.

What she misses is that the large bands have something that Ms Allan is sadly lacking, the word is talent. Yes, as she says they may play the large arena's and own Ferrari collections, they got all that through hard fucking graft and millions of people going out to buy their albums.

Why did millions of people buy their albums, because they have talent, if Ms Allen is finding sales a bit slack there is a reason for that. If she was as good as Pink Floyd she would sell as many CD's as them and be as big as them.

...Pull my strings and I'l go far...
