Gordon's global financial transactions levy idea mocked.

Found this in the Financial Times, on McSnotty being snubbed on the world stage. He really does come across as that kid that wants to be in the gang but is not wanted and the gang can't beat him up as their mum's will give them crap so have to tolerate him.

McSnotty Brown threw his rather porky and overweight self behind a global financial transactions levy on Saturday morning, calling for “a better social contract to reflect the global responsibilities of financial institutions to society”. That's Brown speak for more taxes.

“There have been proposals for an insurance fee to reflect systemic risk or a resolution fund or contingent capital arrangements or a global financial transactions levy,” he added and let it be known that he favoured the latter.

His uninvited comments allied him with France, but soon a vast array of international figures, some politely, some less so, rubbished his plan.

Jim Flaherty, the Canadian finance minister said the idea “was not particularly attractive” - a polite term for saying "he is talking wank!"

Alexei Kudrin, Russia’s finance minister, said he was ”sceptical” and dismissed Mr Brown as someone ”known for always raising taxes” - a polite term for saying "he is talking wank!"

Dominique Strauss Kahn, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, repeated his view the tax was “a very old idea that is not really possible today,” - a polite term for saying "he is talking wank!"

Jean Claude Trichet, the president of the European Central Bank said, “I personally am not convinced” - a polite term for saying "he is talking wank!"

Tim Geithner, the US Treasury secretary delivered the coup-de-grace. “A day-by-day financial transaction tax is not something we are prepared to support,” he insisted. The US thinks examples of the tax, including the UK’s 0.5 per cent “stamp duty” on share transactions have a “mixed” history - a polite term for saying "he is talking wank!"

Since one of Mr Brown’s conditions for support of such a tax was that, “Britain will not move unless others move with us together,” Mr Geithner’s words were the final nail in this the latest example of wank talk from Gordon.

Another snub for our failed in everything he has ever done done, dead duck, unelected, snot eating, tax raising, money wasting, expense fiddling, saved the world banks, blame America, no more boom an bust honest guv', money printing PM.

No doubt another temper tantrum occurred later that day as another Nokia phone flew across the No.10 bunker. Nurse pass Gordon some more of his pills....
