Health and safety rules mean wet T-shirt nights can only happen if no-one gets wet.
Plans for a revival of the wild 80's style wet T-shirt nights at Yesteryear Pub Company's Maloney cocktail bars have now been shelved.
"There'll be no titillation in Bolton, Oldham, St Helens or Wigan," said managing director Tony Callaghan.
(What you won't be seeing thanks to Health & Safety Nazi's - No don't bother complaining as its all for your own good so they claim.)
There is the possibility of being cited in divorce actions Tony Callaghan, Yesteryear Pub Company"It seems that legislation and the threat of legal action is proving to be a massive killjoy in this day and age.
"We have been advised that people getting wet may have grounds to sue if they catch pneumonia, wet floors may cause staff or customers to slip and sustain injury, and some of the better endowed participants may cause blokes to drop their drinks.
"There are also electrical issues, privacy issues relating to the publication of unauthorised photography and even the possibility of being cited in divorce actions."
The company's health and sfety manager Sue McCabe told management that the nights could only take place under strict conditions and if every customer signed a disclaimer.
"One key condition of staging a wet T-shirt contest is that people don't get wet, which pretty well kills off the whole plan," said Callaghan.
"Like every bar chain, we are looking for new ideas - or to recycle old ones - that both suit the clientele and will help us generate income.
"One idea that we had was to go back to the naughty-but-nice party days of the 1980s, and bring back things like wet T-shirt contests."
**What a bunch of dour pc killjoys, any remaining ideas of free thought, fun and harmless past times are being crushed by useless red tape and petty regulations enforced by small cock'd wankers. British bans at work.

Wet t-shirt contests are illegal? That's just sad...
Sadly the wet tee shirt contest is ot a problem, unless the uber state gets involved and then its a problem.
Like anything the state hates, its drown it in paperwork.
Pretty soon, they'll be angling to regulate breathing.
Actually I think that it is great what they are doing, treating people as sex objects is silly and childish, if guys are really worried about the banning of such things, they really need to think long and hard about what being a man is all about.
It is the right to enjoy such things without state nannying that is the problem Thomas.
