Barefaced liar condemns liar.

You could not make it up, Gordon Brown on someone lying:

The fury at the decision to award a £100,000 job in this year's The Apprentice to a salesman who lied on his CV refused to die down yesterday.

Even the Prime Minister weighed into the outcry in the business community that a liar should be seen to prosper, rather than be penalised.

On Wednesday, Lee McQueen, 30, was crowned the surprise winner of the BBC1 reality show despite pretending to go to university for two years.

In fact, he had only attended Thames Valley University for four months.

At his monthly press conference, Gordon Brown said: 'I think people should tell the truth. I think in this case someone exaggerated what they had done.

'[Sir] Alan Sugar is perfectly capable of making his decisions and we should support him in the decision that he made.

'But generally my advice to people is to tell the truth when they are applying for jobs.

'Because as was found in this case, it always comes out anyway and it became known that an exaggeration had been made.'

Oh really Gordon, now what was that you said about "British jobs for British workers?"...If an employer produced a similar slogan, it would almost certainly be prosecuted for discrimination.

Or how about Andrew Rawnsley who recounts an explosion from the then Chancellor after he had been challenged during a radio interview about what he knew of Bernie Ecclestone’s £1 million donation to the Labour Party.

According to Rawnsley, a highly agitated Brown afterwards yelled at aides: “I lied. If this gets out, I'll be destroyed.”

Maybe his final act as chancellor when he boasted of a tax-cutting budget. City economists quickly worked out that the tax bill had risen.

Ok, then what about this one where the IFS says that, in order to meet its child poverty target, the Government will need to spend an additional £4 billion a year on transfer payments. Not true, says Gordon, their assumptions about improved employment rates are wrong.

Gordon Brown's cynical pledge to bring 1,000 troops home by Christmas as promised during Tory Party Conference whilst on a visit to Iraq? There were some 5,030 personnel in the country a the time and on the 26 December, 2007 that was only reduced to 4,600. So actually only 430 troops came out of Iraq, they didn't even come home. According to the MoD, Operation Telic had some 6120 assigned to it before Gordon made his promise. A total of 6500 were assigned on December 26, an increase of 380.

Which leads one to question another of Gordon's denials with regards part of Lord Levy's book:

Then, as his voice gradually rose from dispatch-box volume to a near shout, he exclaimed: 'Peter? He's been going around telling everyone that I'm gay! And I am NOT GAY!'"

But I shall save the best Gordon lie till last, here it is folks:

"No more boom and bust economics" G. Brown 1997.

Yes Gordon, as you said with regards telling of fibs, lies and assorted other untruths

“Because as was found in this case, it always comes out anyway.”

Gordon gives the thumbs up to telling porkies, well if your Gordon Brown that is, if not then don't lie. Oh, and he is NOT GAY!
