Fujitsu say good by to the NHS.

The 12.7 Billion(so far) to computerise our NHS records has lost a key contractor:

They were contracted for an 896 million 10 year contract. Head of the National Outsourcing Association, Martin Hart stated:

"The award of the contract was rushed through. The reason for this could have been political or simply macho posturing"

Regrettably and despite best efforts by all parties, it has not been possible to reach an agreement on the core Fujitsu contract that is acceptable to all parties. The NHS will therefore end the contract early by issuing a termination notice.

Work has started immediately on planning the necessary arrangements.

NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CFH) has to continue to protect the interests of the taxpayer and preserve the basis of contracts which ensure payment on delivery.

We acknowledge the work that Fujitsu has done providing key information services to trusts in the south of England and recognise their commitment to providing a smooth transition to new arrangements.

Remember the NHS is safe in their hands....

Simon Williams of DMW Group stated: "It is of little surprise that the most able and sensible suppliers jumped clear of the project early on..."
The project is four years late, it has been stated that its aims are too nebulous and prone to change...
