"Russian troops are described as 'peacekeepers fighting genocide.' That is not the situation. It is far more complex."From Wise up journal
Georgian forces, trained and equipped by the Pentagon and the U.S. government, killed 10 Russian peacekeepers early this morning in a provocation attack that has escalated into military conflict, but the subsequent corporate media coverage would have us believe that the U.S. and NATO-backed client state Georgia is a helpless victim, when in actual fact a far more nuanced geopolitical strategy is being played out.
And a slightly different view to that of comrade Flynn, Reuters has this:
MOSCOW, August 8 (Reuters) - More than 10 Russian peacekeepers have been killed during fighting in Tskhinvali, the capital of Georgia's breakaway region of South Ossetia, news agencies quoted a top Russian military commander as saying on Friday.I wonder what gem comrade Flynn will come up with next?
"As a result of Georgian shelling more than 10 of our peacekeepers were killed and nearly 30 were wounded," deputy commander of ground forces Igor Konashenkov said. (Writing by Oleg Shchedrov)
Getting away from comrade Flynn, I have to ask when one considers the amount of tv coverage this is getting quite where the protesters are? Remember the stop the war lot when we went into Iraq, or the anti-Israel protests that pop up every so often in the media.
The BBC reported events as "Russia enters Georgia." a case of:
Russia enters.
Israel occupies.
US invades.Hat tip to A Tangled Web
