Gutlless wimps at the Tate

LONDON (Reuters) - The Tate Britain on Monday defended its decision to remove a sculpture from an exhibition for fear of offending Muslims, citing the "sensitive climate" following suicide bombings in London in July.

The museum decided not to include "God is Great" in a display of works by British-based John Latham, infuriating the artist and renewing debate over where to draw the line when censoring the arts.

"God is Great" features copies of the Bible, Koran and Talmud -- sacred texts of Christians, Muslims, and Jews respectively -- embedded in thick glass.

"Having sought wide-ranging advice, Tate feels that to exhibit the work in London in the current sensitive climate, post-July 7, would not be appropriate," a museum spokesman said.

** Seems that the Guardian readers have won that round, and its shit like that that keeps the climate sensitive. (Below is another article on this from the BNP site)

The Tate Britain museum has never knowingly previously been too worried about causing offence by pushing back the boundaries of acceptability. It is after all the gallery which gave us such gems as the talentless Tracey Emins’ childish scribbles using the “f” word, other “artists” elephant dung daubings and “soft core” porno films.

However the sensitivities of Tunbridge Wells’ residents and genteel senior citizens seem to be not worthy of consideration by the Museum’s directors and trustees and it seems that only a Muslim of any age or either sex can be offended.

Exhibition work removed

The museum over the weekend removed a work made up of sacred texts from Christianity, Judaism and Islam torn and mounted on glass to avoid offending religious sensibilities following the July bombings on London Transport. The museum said it was particularly concerned that John Latham's piece “God Is Great” could upset Muslims. It pulled the work from an exhibition of Latham's art despite his objection.

“Having sought wide-ranging advice, Tate feels that to exhibit the work in London in the current sensitive climate, post July 7, would not be appropriate,” the museum said in a statement.

“God Is Great” consists of a large sheet of glass and copies of the Koran, the Bible and Judaism's Talmud that have been cut apart, with the pieces mounted on either side of the glass to make it appear that they are embedded in it.

“Cowardice” says artist

The museum put up a notice in the exhibition explaining the decision, including Latham's objection to it. Latham, 84, who made his name as a member of London's 1960s artistic avant garde, said the piece, which he made 10 years ago, was not anti-Muslim.

“Tate Britain have shown cowardice over this,” he told The Observer newspaper. “I think it's a daft thing to do because, if they want to help the militants, this is the way to do it.”

We have seen planning applications from Glasgow to Luton for licensed premises declined, delayed or modified following objections from Muslim residents.

We have seen barmy councils refuse to display the word “Christmas” and use seasonal decorations which might offend Muslims.

We have seen just last week Burger King remove a new brand of ice cream because of just ONE complaint by a supposed Muslim customer which is odd because BK have confirmed to us and many other correspondents that BK does not sell any halal products.

Endless list of offensive material

There seems to be no end to the list of activities, sights, sounds and words to which Muslims, such delicate souls that they are, get easily offended.

What about the offensive sight of a new Mosque being opened every 6 days in Britain, what about the offensive and frighteningly sight (to toddlers and the elderly) of women forced to completely cover their faces in bird-cage style garments, what about the offensive news of another honour killing on the streets of west Yorkshire or Lancashire, what about the offensive sight of halal products in Britain’s leading supermarket chains? Are indigenous Britons and other non-Muslims in Britain; Jews, Hindus, Sikhs and the secular not permitted to be offended and express that concern and have that concern listened to and acted upon?

Taking a peek at the Tate’s online visitors book suggest that they may have stirred up a hornet’s nest of popular anger and concern by those cultured, arty types who like the Tate’s own brand of sensationalist modern art. Perhaps the Tate will rethink its daft decision.

Every concession to supposed Islamic “offence” is a backward step for us in the west and another step forward for the advance of this middle eastern feudal religious cult.

WELL DONE SERBIA.

Serbia on Sunday handed over to Spain a key suspect in last year's Madrid train bombings which killed 191 people, Spanish police said. Spanish police were accompanying the suspect Abdelmajid Bouchar back to Spain on a military plane due to arrive in the afternoon. The 22-year-old Moroccan was detained at Belgrade's main train station in June with no documentation and claimed to be an Iraqi immigrant worker. Belgrade finished processing Spain's extradition request last week.

Spanish authorities say Bouchar was very close to ringleaders of the March 11, 2004 bombings of the Madrid commuter rail network which killed 191 people and wounded more than 1,500.

The attacks were claimed by militants who said they had acted on behalf of al-Qaeda in revenge for the presence of Spanish troops in Iraq.

Prosecutors at the National Court, which is leading the investigation, said Bouchar may have had a "decisive role" in the attacks through his contacts with other suspects — some killed in a collective suicide and some still on the run.

Jordan trying some looney jihadists.
Seventeen suspected fighters have pleaded not guilty to plotting an attack on the US military in Jordan and neighbouring Iraq.

Some of the defendants told the opening session of their trial in Jordan's military court that they believed jihad "isn't a crime".

Standing in the dock to enter their pleas, they accused the Jordanian government of being an "infidel" and a "puppet" of the US.

The 17, all in custody, are charged with different counts, including conspiring to commit terrorism and attempting to harm Jordan's relations with a foreign country - a reference to Iraq, where the suspects allegedly planned to carry out operations against US forces, but did not manage to travel there.

Australia tightens terror laws.
A THROW-away comment posted on a website praising a terrorist attack anywhere in the world could land a person in jail under tough new laws to be debated by State and Federal leaders today.

Australians could also find themselves in breach of Federal law for distributing books or other literature urging people to travel overseas to kill Coalition soldiers, or for praising a terror attack as a brave act that should be repeated.

New incitement and sedition laws on the table at today's Council of Australian Governments terror summit could place some Australian groups and businesses in danger of breaching the law.

Likely to come under intense pressure under the laws will be the Australian arm of organisations such as Hizb-Ut-Tahrir, whose website sails close to praising the insurgency in Iraq, as well as Islamic bookshops that knowingly sell literature praising terrorism.

The public utterings of some Muslim clerics could also breach new rules. State premiers, who have been outbidding each other and Federal Labor with tough new counter-terrorism laws, want Prime Minister John Howard to insert a "sunset clause" in the new laws so they do not stay on the books forever.

Mr Howard has been reluctant to agree to the push.

But the new laws, in which suspects could be held in detention for up to two weeks without trial, will be reviewed every three years under a deal to be agreed by state premiers and Mr Howard today....

Mr Howard sought to reassure Australia's Muslim community, saying any new laws would not be targeted at them.

"Law-abiding Muslims have as much at stake in these laws being passed as law-abiding Christians or law-abiding atheists or law-abiding Jews or law-abiding Hindus. We are all in this together," he said.

But Australian Islamic Mission president Dr Zachariah Matthews said some of the reforms had the potential to cause more public intolerance.

France grabs suspects.
PARIS, (AFP) - Terror suspects detained in France had been eyeing up the Parisian metro network, an airport and the headquarters of the domestic intelligence service as possible targets, sources close to the investigation said. ...

Nine people were detained by police early Monday in a series of raids west of Paris in what officials said was a crackdown on suspected Islamic terrorist activities.

Among those being held is Safe Bourada, 35, who was released from prison in 2003 after five years for helping organise a series of bomb attacks in France in 1995 for the Algerian Armed Islamic Group (GIA).

Seven of those held were described as targets of the police operation, and the two others happened to be with them when the round-up took place.
(See even though they opposed us on Iraq the looney carpet kissing jihadists are still out to kill the French.)

WELL DONE THE US - One gutless untermenchen savage taken out.
WASHINGTON - American Special Forces have killed a key lieutenant to terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the top al-Qaida operative in Iraq, U.S. officials said Monday.

The officials requested anonymity because there's been no official announcement of the death of the terrorist, who used the name Abu Azzam and was believed to be responsible for financing and arranging the movement of foreign fighters into western Iraq from Syria and other countries.

The officials said that U.S.-led forces got a tip about Azzam's whereabouts, raided a house near Baghdad "within the last day or so" and killed him after he opened fire on them.

From Northeast Intelligence Site - 9/11 plotters jailed. Good riddance to bad rubbish and all that.

7 September 2005: Syrian born Imad Eddin Barakat Yarkas (42), a/k/a Abu Dahdah, received a minimal 27-year sentence for conspiracy to carry out terrorist murders in Europe's largest terrorist trial. Yarkas was convicted of commanding a terrorist cell that provided funding and logistical support for the terrorists who planned the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. A 450-page judgment detailed how Yarkas had conspired with Islamic terrorist Mohammed Atta and other members of the Hamburg-based cell who carried out the September 11 attacks. The sentence is much less than the 74,000 years in prison desired by the prosecution.

Yarkas, pictured at left, is only the second person to be found guilty and jailed for playing a role in the September 11, 2001 attacks against the U.S., The other plotter is Zacarias Moussaoui, having admitted conspiracy in April after being arrested in August 2001 while taking flying classes in Minnesota; he faces the death penalty at his sentencing next year. Yarkas was one of 18 found guilty among 24 defendants on charges of cooperating with al Qaeda or being involved in terrorist activities. Two other suspects, 32-year-old Moroccan Driss Chebli and 41-year-old Syrian Ghasoub al Abrash Ghalyoun, were charged with aiding the 9/11 hijackers in their preparations for the attacks on New York and Washington. Driss Chebli was cleared of murder over the 9/11 attacks but was convicted of collaboration and jailed for six years. Both Yarkas and Chebli were found to have coordinated a key meeting in Spain with Mohammed Atta two months before the attacks.

The third suspect facing charges directly related to the 9/11 attacks, Ghasoub al-Abrash Ghalyoun, pictured at left and below was acquitted. The Syrian-born Spanish citizen was indicted over detailed video he shot of the World Trade Center and other landmarks during a trip to several US cities in 1997.

ABOVE: Ghasoub al-Abrash Ghalyoun shown at Empire State Building in Security Video Footage.

Dubbed Europe’s “Macro-Trial,” twenty-one other men also stood trial but on charges not directly related to the 9/11 attacks. Of those, 16 were convicted of belonging to or collaborating with a terrorist organization. Five were acquitted.

Other Convictions

The court also sentenced an Al-Jazeera television war correspondent, Tayssir Alouni, who interviewed Bin Laden after the attacks.to seven years in jail for collaborating with al-Qaeda by acting as a financial courier. Al-Jazeera said it will continue to back Alouni as he appeals against his conviction. He had admitted handing over about $4 000 to an alleged al-Qaeda official in Kabul, but denied the money was for terrorism. "He has been found guilty of doing his job," his wife, Fatima Hamed, said outside the courtroom. Chief Editor of al-Jazeera Ahmed Sheik stated: "It is a very sad feeling. We were expecting Tayssir back with us today."

All 24 defendants were part of an original group of 41 suspects indicted by Judge Baltasar Garzon. Judge Garzon has said that Spain was a key base for hiding, helping, recruiting and financing al-Qaeda members in the lead-up to the attacks on New York and Washington.

CIndy Sheehan Arrested - well done the US police!

Seems the cry baby liberal thats been bitching and a whining about the war and whining about this, and whining about that, and generally being a self rightous ass has been arrested, and how I laughed.

She and some loons decided to stage a sit-in on the sidewalk. They were warned three times to move along or they'd be arrested. They refused to move along. So the police had no choice to arrest her, alas she did not resist arrest and have the shit beaten out of her yellow lilly livered arse.

The arseholes arrested were dragged off amidst chants of "the whole world is watching!" . A spokesman for the US Park Police said they would be charged with demonstrating without a permit, which is a misdemeanor. She and the other loons be fingerprinted and photographed, then given a ticket and released, a process which is expected to take several hours.

And I thought there was not going to be anything funny on tv tonight, guess I was wrong on that one. Always amused me how the left wingers seem to think that they can cry and sulk and break the law whenever they feel like it and when the weight of the law comes down on them, its a case of "I'm innocent, get my lawyer I am going to sue."

Union payout to Islamonazi bomber.

Found this story on the BNP site, and I have posted it. I hope that this is not true, but given the sad and sorry state of our once great nation it would not suprise me if this were 100% right:

News article filed by Yorkshire correspondent

Following concerns expressed by local voters the BNP councillor for the Heckmondwike ward of Kirklees Council member, Clr. David Exley has acted to gain information on rumours circulating around the Dewsbury area.

Councillor Exley has tabled a letter to the Yorkshire headquarters of trade union Unison. The letter written on 15th of September asked the union to confirm or deny once and for all the truth of the allegations that the widow of 07/07 London suicide bomber Mohammad Sidique Khan is to, or may already have received a massive compensation payout from the trade union Unison, the union for public sector workers.

Extremism tolerated

Khan was employed at Hillside Primary School in Beeston where the Labour MP John Trickett's wife, Sarah Balfour is head teacher, it is alleged the suicide bomber Khan was a member of the Unison.

Questioning Unison's policy on “no membership” for BNP members Clr. Exley has also asked what measures Unison are taking to act on religious extremism within its members.

Councillor Exley has, in the past six weeks, received dozens of telephone calls from other members of Unison and the general community asking for information on the issue of the allegations that union money is being used for the payout.

Request for information to union

Councillor Exley confirmed that he had written to Cliffe Williams of Unison to clear up the matter and stated that even though he was sure that no sensible union would use members’ money to furnish a payout to the widow of a suicide bomber, as a community leader he had a responsibility to calm the tension that the rumours may be causing.

So far Unison has maintained a wall of silence which is in turn fuelling tensions in the area escalating rumours that the payout may actually be true.

Cllr Exley told a BNP website reporter, “I am caught between a rock and a hard place on this one, I have a duty to the people who voted for me to pursue the truth, but that truth is being kept from me by this union, if these payout rumours are false then the union has a duty to speak out quickly and clearly, if they are true then they must justify the payout to not only its own members but the families of the dead and maimed.”

The saga continues but the BNP in West Yorkshire will continue to demand answers, which when they are forthcoming, will be published, online and in our paper based publications.

Bollocks to free speech - Not in Blairs Britain.

Police arrested a 20-year-old gamekeeper for wearing a “Bollocks to Blair” T-shirt at a game fair last weekend

A girl was arrested for wearing her “Bollocks to Blair” T-shirt at the Midlands Game Fair last weekend. Charlotte Denis, 20, a gamekeeper from Gloucestershire, was stopped by police as she left the Countryside Alliance stand because of the “offensive” slogan.

Shocked and dismayed to be made a public spectacle, Denis tried to reason with the officers: “What do you want me to do? Take my top off and wear my bra?”

At this point, two officers marched Denis towards a police car. “They grabbed me as if I was a football hooligan,” she says.

Although the “Bollocks to Blair” slogan was in evidence all round the Game Fair, police maintained it was the first time they had seen it.

“They had to walk past a huge banner in order to get to me and there were lots of other people wearing the T-shirts,” explained Denis.

A tearful Denis was driven to a mobile police unit. “I asked the officers how they could arrest someone for wearing a T-shirt and they told me it was because it would offend a 70-80-year-old woman,” she said.

After agreeing to wear a friend's coat, Denis was released without charge. But the incident ruined her day: “You don't expect to be treated like that at a country fair,” she said.

Denis bought her T-shirt at Badminton Horse Trials last year, as well as a matching badge she wears on her coat.

“Bollocks to Blair” merchandise is manufactured by Splash and first appeared last year.

“The demand has been crazy,” said Splash director Toby Rhodes. “The slogan is an expression of anger in the countryside — which we are not trying to incite. We originally thought it a bit too direct for us but it has been popular with all ages. I've been told that some police officers wear the T-shirts under their uniforms.”

“It's complete nonsense,” said the Countryside Alliance. “The police surely have better things to do with their time than protect the Prime Minister's modesty.”

** Indeed first off I would like to say many things to that gutless makeup wearing individual that and yes bollocks in amongst them. Shame the police have nothing better to do with their time like harrasing motorists for minor infractions of the highway code, or arresting ham radio enthusiasts for alleged comments on air. Oh hang on yes they do do that dont they, its just the boring bit like turning up at major crime incidents in under 4 hours they are a bit crap at.

Still at least I can now wander to a game fair and be able to find large numbers of our police, its just a shame that there are very few of them to be seen on the city streets of Newport of an evening.

More good news from Iraq - Bet you wont find this on the BBC.

Iraqi, U.S. patrols seize 126 terror suspects, weapons

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Coalition Forces, often teaming up with Iraqi Army Soldiers, conducted 69 cordon and search operations and raids against anti-Iraqi forces over the past four days, seizing 126 terror suspects and seven weapons caches in and around the capital city.

Additionally, Task Force Baghdad Soldiers and members of the Iraqi Security forces conducted 3,000 combat patrols to provide security for local businesses and citizens.

In one of the larger combat operations, a joint patrol of Iraqi Police and Task Force Baghdad Soldiers found terrorists hiding in a building in the Mansour district of central Baghdad at 9:40 a.m. Sept. 21.

An Iraqi Army patrol in the area came to assist the combined patrol, while U.S. attack helicopters provided air support.

When the firing stopped, a weapons cache containing rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms ammunition, 35 mortar rounds and rockets, one mortar tube, 27 RPGs, three roadside bombs, and five cell phones was found.

Five terrorists were killed in the assault.

Another Task Force Baghdad patrol working in western Baghdad found a large weapons cache on the outskirts of western Baghdad the morning of Sept. 24. The cache consisted of 11 roadside bombs, one mortar tube and 14 mortar rounds, one artillery round, TNT and plastic explosives.

Combined Iraqi Army and U.S. patrols also found an additional 33 rocket, mortar and artillery rounds; 15 rifles with 275 magazines and ammunition, two missiles, 16 grenades, and four pistols in other weapons caches hidden throughout the city.

1,000 security detainees to be released from Abu Ghraib

ABU GHRAIB, Iraq – In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the Iraqi government requested a special release board and worked with Multi-National Forces to expedite the release of more than 1,000 security detainees from Abu Ghraib.

The release will take place over the next week with the first 500 detainees released on Sept. 26.

These detainees were selected for release following a careful and thorough review of their files by a special Iraqi-led review board which determined they had not committed serious crimes against Iraqi forces, the citizens of Iraq or Coalition Forces.

Deputy Prime Minister Abed Motlaq Al-Jabouri will be present for the release to emphasize the importance of being a good Iraqi citizen and treating each other with respect and kindness, especially during Ramadan.

The special review board carefully reviewed hundreds of files and voted to release those not guilty of serious, violent crimes such as bombing, torture, kidnapping or murder. These detainees have confessed to their crimes, renounced violence and pledged to be good citizens of Iraq.

This release is an acknowledgment by the Iraqi government and MNF-I of the importance of the holy month of Ramadan. The Iraqi government and MNF-I decided to release the detainees to allow them to be with families and loved ones to celebrate the holy month and to help in the process of building a new Iraq.

This release is the largest to date and marks another milestone achieved in the Iraqis’ progress toward democratic governance and the rule of law.

Foreign fighter safe haven destroyed

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition air forces conducted an air strike and destroyed an al Qaeda in Iraq foreign fighter safe house in al-Ushsh, Iraq, Sept. 26, at about 1:30 a.m.

Multiple intelligence sources and information from concerned citizens directed Multi-National forces to the safe house. In the house was Abu Nasir, a senior al Qaeda in Iraq foreign fighter facilitator and the alleged new al Qaeda in Iraq Emir of Karabilah. Nasir was linked to other al Qaeda in Iraq terrorists and foreign fighter facilitators in the Hit, al Qaim, Karabilah and Husaybah areas.

Nasir’s presence in the safe house during the air strike was indicated by intelligence. Additionally, there were a large number of terrorists and foreign fighters present at the safe house. About 20 armed male terrorists and foreign fighters were identified at the location prior to the air strike.

The type of munitions used, and the time the air strike was conducted, mitigated the risk to civilians in the local area.

Unconfirmed reports alleged that Nasir recently became the al Qaeda in Iraq Emir of Karabilah, where he assumed control of all terrorist operations in the area. These operations include vehicle-borne improvised explosive device and individual explosive device bombings, mortar attacks, ambushes, and other direct attacks against Iraqi security and Coalition forces.

Nasir is also known to have al Qaeda connections in the region that include links to Syria, where all of his foreign fighters are funneled prior to their arrival in Iraq. Once in Iraq, they are sent to various groups and cells to attack Iraqi citizens, Iraqi security forces and Coalition forces.

Al Farazdk school renovated

AL FARAZDK, Iraq – Bulgarian Soldiers from Multi-National Division Central-South held a ceremony to commemorate the completion of a school renovation project near Ad Diwaniyah Sept. 24.

Soldiers from Bulgaria’s 3rd Battle Group renovated classrooms, electrical wiring and plumbing. Renovations at the school in Al Farazdk, near Afak, also included a new fence for the school.

Civil-Military specialists in the division have completed more than 500 educational projects worth more than $14,000,000.

Iraqi, U.S. Forces bring calm following recent attack

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition and Iraqi security forces came under fire in Sadr City in the early morning hours Sept. 25.

Iraqi security forces were conducting a mission to capture three insurgents suspected of working in a kidnapping and torture cell. The three suspects were not found or captured but missions to find them will continue.

Iraqi security forces were ambushed at several locations while conducting the operation. Nearby Coalition Forces on routine patrols responded to reinforce the Iraqi forces. Coalition and Iraqi forces returned fire and killed five to eight of the armed assailants. The engagement lasted about 90 minutes. No suspects were detained and no Coalition or Iraqi forces were injured.

Over the past year Coalition Forces have been working closely with Sadr City leaders to establish a secure environment and to allow Iraqis to proceed with the Constitutional Referendum.

“I am concerned about the events early this morning, but I do not believe this action reflects a pattern of change leading to more violence,” said Col. Joseph DiSalvo, Commander of Coalition Forces in East Baghdad.

“I am working with Iraqi leaders in Sadr City to keep the situation calm. Terrorists in Sadr City or elsewhere have no safe haven. We will aggressively pursue all leads against the terrorists. My mission is to find the terrorists and keep Iraq safe and that is what we will do.”

As DiSalvo drove through the city this morning he found the situation calm. “Iraqi security forces and the Coalition will continue routine patrolling,” said DiSalvo.

Jihadists, madmen and other nasty types.

MADRID, Spain - A suspected al-Qaida cell leader was convicted Monday of conspiring to commit murder in connection with the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States, concluding Europe's biggest trial of alleged members of the terrorist group.

Imad Yarkas, one of 24 defendants on trial, was sentenced to 27 years in prison for conspiracy and of being a leader of a terrorist organization. ...

Twenty-one others also stood trial, but on charges not directly related to Sept. 11. Of those, 16 were convicted of belonging to or collaborating with a terrorist organization and five were acquitted.

One of the 16 was Tayssir Alouny, a correspondent for the pan-Arab TV network Al-Jazeera. He was convicted of collaboration and sentenced to seven years in jail.

All 24 were expressionless as the verdicts were read in the National Court.

American troops and the Mahdi Army militia of Moqtada al-Sadr clashed in the slums of Baghdad yesterday, raising fears for the future of a year-long US truce with the fiery Shia cleric's gunmen.

The fighting came as insurgent attacks took the lives of at least 31 people, including 13 commandos from the elite Wolf Brigade, the Iraqi army's showcase anti-terrorism unit, killed when a suicide bomber rammed into their convoy in the south-east of the capital.

Mahdi Army gunmen opened fire on US forces that entered their stronghold in Baghdad's Sadr City slums to arrest three of their colleagues accused by the Americans of running a "kidnap and torture" cell.

Coalition forces in Iraq appear to have run out of patience with the Mahdi Army after what one US officer described as "repeated provocation" in recent months.

The crackdown began last week when British officers arrested three senior Mahdi Army officials in Basra on suspicion of carrying out attacks on military targets in southern Iraq.

The arrests caused a week of tension in the southern city between British forces and Sadr's outlawed Mahdi Army, which was suspected of having taken captive two undercover British soldiers who were later arrested.

One in 10 Muslim students would not inform police if they learnt of a fellow Muslim planning a terrorist attack, a survey of young Muslims reveals.

The poll, by the Federation of Student Islamic Societies, found that although 72 per cent would inform police straight away, some said that they “would never grass on a Muslim”, while others cited mistrust of the police.

The findings, which canvassed the views of 466 British Muslim students, were described as extremely worrying by Bill Rammell, the Higher Education Minister. The poll also revealed that 85 per cent condemned the London attacks.

Nice on Italy!
MILAN - Italian police in Milan on Monday raided apartments and companies owned by a group of Algerians suspected of belonging to The Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), an extremist Islamic group, the police said....

The raids in Milan came on the day French police detained seven people in the Paris region and in nearby Normandy, in a crackdown on suspected GSPC members.

GSPC, Algeria’s main armed Islamic group, is suspected of being linked to Al Qaeda.

Peace and tolerance from Thailand:
BANGKOK - Suspected Islamist insurgents avoided capture after torturing to death two Thai marines by beating and stabbing the bound-and-gagged victims behind a human shield of defiant Muslim women and children, horrifying the government and plunging southern Thailand into a fresh security crisis.

Amid the world's most violent Islamist insurgency outside Iraq, angry and confused security forces hunted the elusive killers, described as three or four young men who ran away, leaving the marines' bloodied bodies in Tanyong Limo village.

"They were brutally beaten to death with machetes and sticks, while their hands and legs were tied up, and they were gagged and blindfolded," Lieutenant General Kwanchart Klaharn, commander of the Fourth Army and director of the Southern Border Provinces Peace-building Command, told reporters.

The bodies were locked inside a building near a mosque, prompting security forces to break down a door to gain access before transporting them to a hospital morgue, he said.

Even France is catching them:
PARIS - French police on Monday detained nine people suspected of ties to a fundamentalist Algerian militant group possibly planning to attack France, officials said....

French television station LCI said the group, known by its French initials GSPC, was suspected of planning attacks in France.

The GSPC is the most structured group among Algerian Islamic insurgents battling the North African state since 1992 in a bid to topple the government. In recent years, it has turned its sights on jihad, or holy war, beyond Algerian borders.

(IsraelNN.com) Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal has purchased 5.46 percent of the Fox corporation, according to Gulf Daily News, raising concern that the conservative Fox News may soften its anti-terror stance due to the views of the new shareholder.

Al-Waleed, the nephew of the late Saudi King Fahd, was in the news when he visited the World Trade Center's remains just after the September 11th attacks and offered then-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani a $10 million check for relief efforts. Al-Waleed then released a statement blaming US foreign policy and support for Israel for the attacks.

Giuliani returned the prince's check with a statement that, "There is no moral equivalent for this attack. The people who did it lost any right to ask for justification when they slaughtered . . . innocent people ... Not only are those statements wrong, they're part of the problem."

Iran behind attacks?

British military intelligence officers believe that Iranian Revolutionary Guards are responsible for training and supporting members of the Shia group that seized and threatened to kill the two SAS troopers.

They are investigating suspected links between Iran and more than a dozen groups in southern Iraq that are believed to be behind the upsurge in attacks on coalition forces.

"We know that scores of Iranian agents have been operating in southern Iraq, and we have received reports that the group that briefly held the two British soldiers has links to Iran," said a senior coalition security officer. "From what we have seen, the Iranians are setting out to incite the local Shia to attack coalition troops."

The US - Europe alliance.

Old Europe and the U.S.: It's about that time

By Gary Schneider

America, for too long now, has been subject to the reflexive and unthinking old-European past-time of abuse, blind recalcitrance and blatant expressions of ill-will toward the United States and her people. This frequent stench of blathering hatred regularly drifts from across the Atlantic to U.S. shores from those who, at one point in time, were deemed to be American allies or even friends; Yet, like a blindly loyal puppy, the United States has ignored the affronts and, with panting tongue and wagging tail, come back for more with the guarded hope that such one sided allegiance would eventually be reciprocated or at least not wantonly debased. However, seasons do indeed change in the partnership of nations whereby anachronistic alliances must necessarily die despite the lingering feelings of nostalgia that unreasonably prolong them.

The two prevailing anti-American themes we're hearing in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina are sadly not new. Resentment of America's material success and stature as the world's preeminent symbol of Democracy and Capitalism have for decades now given cause to the radical left to engage in ad hominem and sophomoric vilification of her every move. What is new, however, is the heightened degree of the attacks and more importantly, the broadened appeal and subsequent institutionalization of these sentiments throughout the media and the halls of government. So, what was once largely just fringe pap has now been elevated to mainstream news and opinion.

A number of the less intellectually honest among us would suggest the notion that The United States, and President Bush in particular, have somehow earned the disdain of our European partners. Rather, I submit that the cause is Europe's wholesale disregard of the fundamental tenets that have historically bound us together. This estrangement has been promulgated by the far left element in Europe which has attained near complete control of its cultural centers and subsequently dictate popular sentiment. The net result is a near continental group-think devoid of the sufficient ideological counterbalance necessary to provide context and gauge reason there.

Let me make this simple - Either you believe in primacy of Democracy, the need to promote and protect it, free markets and individual liberty or you don't. These beliefs are antithetical to leftist doctrine which now dominates popular European political and social thought. Ideologically then, much of old Europe is more closely aligned with China and Putin's Russia than they are with the United States. So, it stands to reason that France, Germany, China, Russia, et al., would partner to oppose the United States in Iraq, engage in joint military exercises and generally collaborate to undermine American influence. They do this because collectively they have come to oppose what America stands for....period; And the oft used propaganda tools of material envy, "environmentalism" or the "peace" movement are merely a means to a socialist end.

So, instead of an expressed desire to help the United States in a crisis, the BBC expresses the boorish glee and gloating hearts of many a European today when they crow: "...But why does the world's richest nation need handouts? ... The world's only superpower has been forced to turn to aid agencies to speed up the humanitarian effort in the wake of Katrina.

Seemingly unable to draw on its wealth at short notice to immediately respond to the disaster, charities in other countries, such as the British Red Cross, are now launching appeals to raise money.

Brian Cooper, a respondent to the above referenced article from London writes: "A quick straw poll of people in my office shows up a feeling of disgust that the US can't free up enough funds. I don't think anyone here is planning on giving..."

Shockingly, this American tragedy seems to have made a good number of Europeans feel good.

Germany's environmental minister Jurgen Tritten cynically suggests that by " ... neglecting environmental protection, America’s president shuts his eyes to the economic and human damage that natural catastrophes like Katrina inflict on his country and the world’s economy... Indications are multiplying that Bush has more than Katrina’s headwind blowing in his face... . When reason finally pays a visit to climate-polluter headquarters, the international community has to be prepared to hand America a worked out proposal for the future of international climate protection. The German Government stands ready." What a guy. However, his inference that American environmental policy is to blame for the increase in global natural disasters such as hurricane Katrina is empirically unsound and frankly amounts to nothing more than the dogmatic emissions of an ideologue.

Suffice it to say that old Europe, in the vacuum of their own myopic zeal, underestimate the extent of anger and disaffection felt by a clear majority of Americans and take for granted the permanence of American support. America is finally coming to the practical realization that many of the nations comprising old Europe can simply no longer be counted on to be anything other than reflexively adversarial. According to a recent Rasmussen poll nearly 3 out 4 Americans do not consider France to be an ally of the United States, with greater than 30% classifying them as an outright enemy.

It is reasonable, therefore, to expect that with the continued leftist radicalization of old Europe and the resultant shift in American opinion toward them, The United States will progress toward a dramatic, albeit gradual, realignment of U.S. military and economic resources to new and more steadfast partners...despite the obligatory U.S. diplomatic assurances to the contrary.

And that is as it should be.

** I liked the bit abouta large number of Americans not considering France an ally and in fact thinking of it as an enemy, guess I agree with them on that one.

Call for Jihad on Saudi Iqra TV

An August 29, 2005 program on Saudi Iqra TV was devoted to supporting Jihad in Palestine. The program host began by telling all Saudis that they must donate and explained how to do so.

A caption then appeared on the screen: "Saudi Committee for Support of the Al-Quds Intifada, Account No. 98, a joint account at all Saudi banks." A moderator stated that "Jihad is the pinnacle of Islam" and explained that the funds would go directly to those waging Jihad, where it would "help them carry out this mission."

The program included the secretary-general of the Saudi government's Muslim World League Koran Memorization Commission, Sheikh Abdallah Basfar, who explained why it was an "obligation" for all Muslims to support Jihad. He also promised that "all of the funds sent via the known charities and organizations" would reach "your Muslim brothers." TO VIEW THIS CLIP VISIT: http://memritv.org/search.asp?ACT=S9&P1=843.

For more on this subject see Special Report No. 17, – "Saudi Royal Family's Financial Support to the Palestinians 1998-2003: More than 15 Billion Riyals (U.S $4 Billion.) Given to 'Mujahideen Fighters' and 'Families of Martyrs,'" http://memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sr&ID=SR1703.

Caption: Jerusalem in their hearts.

Host: "Palestine calls out to you – its women, children, elderly, and youth. They appeal to the generosity of the Khalifa Al-Mu'tasem within you. Wage Jihad for the sake of Allahin what you do best, in order to defend the first Qibla [direction of prayer] and the third holiest shrine. Donate, even the smallest thing, for your brothers in Palestine, and you will be blessed."

Organizer: "As the Prophet Muhammad said, Jihad is the pinnacle of Islam. A person who cannot wage Jihad with his soul is required to wage Jihad with his money, with his tongue, with his thought, and with any means at his disposal. There is no doubt that our brothers in Palestine desperately need financial support, which goes directly to this cause, and helps them to carry out this mission."

Islamic clerics told to leave Somaliland

HARGEISA, Somalia (AFP) - Authorities in Somalia's breakaway region of Somaliland have warned outsiders, particularly Islamic clerics, without legitimate business there to leave immediately following the arrest of several alleged Al-Qaeda operatives.

In a crackdown ordered after the arrests of five suspected members of Osama bin Laden's network during a shootout with police on Friday, Interior Minister Ishmail Aden said non-Somalilanders illegally in the region would be deported.

"I have instructed the (Islamic) clerics from neighbouring Ethiopia and Somalia to leave the country if they do not have legal papers and are not genuine businessmen registered by relevant authorities," Aden said.

"Those who have commercial interest here may stay as long as they respect the laws of the land but others must leave as soon as possible," he told a news conference. "This is strictly a security issue."

"The activities of outsiders and suspect (Somalilanders) will be scrutinized further for security purposes," Aden said, adding police in the region had arrested a total of five alleged Al-Qaeda members on Friday.

On Friday, he said three suspected extremists, including "an internationally known" Afghan-trained Al-Qaeda leader, had been detained after police raids in the capital Hargeisa that followed tips from local residents....

"The threat of jihadi terrorism in and from Somalia is real," the International Crisis Group said in a report that described the group as "a new, ruthless and independent network with links to Al-Qaeda."

Iran linked to 1985 bombing at US air base in Germany: report

MUNICH - Federal investigators in Germany have unearthed new evidence linking Iran to the 1985 bombing of a US military base that injured 35 persons, according to a report on Saturday.

Iranian secret agents allegedly detonated explosives concealed in a vehicle at the Frankfurt post-exchange food store on November 24, 1985, said the report in Focus news magazine.

Focus said investigators believe the agents were members of a hit squad working on orders from Teheran to eliminate dissidents living in Europe in exile.

Once you leave Islam you lose the lot!

Kuala Lumpur (AsiaNews/Agencies) – In a society where those born as Malays are automatically declared to be Muslim, Lina Joy had to fight to be recognized as a Christian. A superior court ruled on Monday 19 September that the Malay people (one out of four ethnic groups – Malay, Chinese, Indians and tribals – of the country) “cannot renounce Islam”: in this way, the judges made it clear to the woman that she cannot practice her faith freely.

Azalina Jailani – who changed her name to Lina Joy in 1998, after converting to Christianity – appeared before a panel composed of three judges (two Muslims and one Hindu), who told her that her renunciation of Islam was “impossible without the permission of Muslim religious authorities”. The judges clarified that the law “does not guarantee, nor does it provide a procedure which obliges the authorities to recognise a change in religion”. ...

The ruling affects about 15,000 Malaysians who want to be able to live openly as Christians. "The decision leaves many Malay converts in a perpetual state of limbo," said a Muslim lawyer who has represented apostates in court.

The constitution defines as people of Malay race those citizens of Malaysia who profess Islam, speak the national language and practise Malay culture. Constitutionally, when Malays renounce Islam they cease to be Malay.

"We are deeply disappointed ... we had a lot of hope riding on this decision," said another Malay Christian and mother of three children. "We Malays are non-persons in our own country because we are Christians."

Task Force Baghdad Soldiers foil roadside bombers

TAJI, Iraq - A 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division Soldier, observing a main road north of Baghdad, foiled the efforts of two roadside bombers in the late night hours of Sept. 22.

Upon discovering two terrorists attempting to emplace an improvised explosive device, the Soldier immediately called for two M1A1 tanks from 1st Battalion, 13th Armored Regiment, to engage the terrorists before they could trigger their device. When they arrived at the site, the tanks identified the two bombers and engaged them with machine guns.

The tank crews called in two AH-64 Apaches to their location to assist when the terrorists fled the area.

The bombs were destroyed by a military explosives ordnance disposal unit.

And finally having seen the much lower turn out for the anti war demo yesterday, I had to laugh when they said that support for a pull out of British troops had increased.

"The turnout was lower than some earlier anti-war marches, but many said the opposition to the Iraq conflict was stronger than ever. "The demonstrations in the past may have been bigger but then only about half the country was opposed to the war," said heritage officer Raj Pal, 47, from Birmingham. "Now about two-thirds of people are opposed."

Yeah right, thats why hundreds of thousands of people decided not to go on the march, instead they showed their support by staying in and watching the small march on the television. The BBC doesn't even headline the march. You have to scroll down the page and then all you get is about ten photos with captions. Notice how the photographs are all close ups so you can't tell how big the crowd is? Compare that to the last anti-war march with the wide angle shots. Love that comment about how

The Foreign Policy of Guilt.

Summary: According to Blair, our duty is to shower the globe with money. According to Bush, our duty is to shower the globe with "democracy." Taken together, the meaning of their foreign policy is clear. The West has no moral right to exist, because it is productive, prosperous and free; materially and spiritually, with its money and its soldiers' lives, the West must buy permission to exist from the rest of the world. But the rest of the world has an unquestionable right to exist, because it is unproductive, poor and unfree.

** Found this at capmag.com, link on the side of blog. A brilliant site that hits the nail on the head.

In the aftermath of the bombings in London, Prime Minister Tony Blair has asked the British people to remain calm and maintain their daily routines; the terrorists win, he says, if one gives in to fear. This, you may remember, was also George W. Bush's response after Sept. 11, when he called on Americans to return to our shopping malls and not be afraid.

But we should be afraid--precisely because of Blair's and Bush's policies.

We face an enemy, Islamic totalitarianism, committed to our deaths. Its agents have shown an eagerness to kill indiscriminately in London, Madrid, New York and elsewhere, even at the cost of their own lives. They continually seek chemical and nuclear weapons; imagine the death toll if such devices had been used in London's subway bombings. In the face of this mounting threat, what is our response?

Do we proudly proclaim our unconditional right to exist? Do we resolutely affirm to eradicate power base after power base of the Islamic totalitarians, until they drop their arms, and foreign governments and civilian populations no longer have the nerve to support them?

No. Blair's response to the London bombings, with Bush and the other members of the G8 by his side, was, in meaning if not in explicit statement, to apologize and do penance for our existence.

Somehow we in the West and not the Palestinians--with their rejection of the freedoms attainable in Israel and their embrace of thugs and killers--are responsible for their degradation. Thus, we must help build them up by supplying the terrorist-sponsoring Palestinian Authority with billions in aid. And somehow we in the West and not the Africans--with their decades of tribal, collectivist and anticapitalist ideas--are responsible for their poverty. Thus we must lift them out of their plight with $50 billion in aid. This, Blair claims, will help us "triumph over terrorism."

The campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq might be considered exceptions to this orgy of penance, but that would be an error. In neither war was the aim to smash the enemy. Unlike in WWII, when the Allies would flatten cities to achieve victory, the American and British armies, by explicit order, tiptoed in the Middle East. Terrorists and insurgents went free, free to return to kill our young men, because we subordinated the lives of our soldiers to concern for the enemy's well-being and civilian casualties. Our goal was not victory but, as Bush so often tells us, to bestow with our soldiers' blood an unearned gift on these people, "freedom" and "democracy," with the hope that they would then stop killing us.

According to Blair, our duty is to shower the globe with money.

Until we in the West reject this monstrous moral premise, we will never have cause to feel safe.

What we desperately need is a leader who proclaims that the rational ideals of the West, reason, science, individual rights and capitalism, are good--that we have a moral right to exist for our own sake--that we don't owe the rest of the world anything--and that we should be admired and emulated for our virtues and accomplishments, not denounced. This leader would then demonstrate, in word and deed, that if those opposed to these ideals take up arms against us, they will be crushed.

Support for totalitarian Islam will wither only when the Islamic world is convinced that the West will fight--and fight aggressively. As long as the insurgents continue with their brutal acts in Iraq, unharmed by the mightiest military force in human history, as long as the citizens of London return to "normal" lives with subways exploding all around them, as long as the West continues to negotiate with Iran on nuclear weapons--as long as the West continues to appease its enemies, because it believes it has no moral right to destroy them, totalitarian Islam is emboldened.

It is the West's moral weakness that feeds terrorism and brings it fresh recruits. It is the prospect of success against the West, fueled by the West's apologetic response, that allows totalitarian Islam to thrive.

Bush has said repeatedly, in unguarded moments, that this war is un-winnable. By his foreign policy, it is. But if the British and American people gain the self-esteem to assert our moral right to exist--with everything this entails--victory will be ours.

Whats wrong with Britain?

Sometimes it looks like the lunatics have taken over the asylum, and looking at what the politicians in the UK are up to I can well believe that.

First off we have the mayor of London - only a few months after muslim untermenchen wiped out over 50 people in the capitol of our fine nation, saying that in some circumsances terrorism is ok. How long before he meets up with the terrorist head choppers in Iraq? After all he is rather friendly with our home grown terrorists the IRA.

Then we have the church of England trying to suck up to the Islamonazis and blaming us for all the worlds ills, banging on about the war in Iraq and the whole war on terror being illegal and morally wrong, yet not offering any proper reply to the question of how we reply to animals who fly planes into building? A stern letter maybe? Or maybe a leaftlet campaign explaining that suicide attacks are not nice and could they please stop!

Add to that the fact that not a single hate cleric has been booted out of the UK and you can understand why people are getting more than a little annoyed with our weak willed political masters.

Watch the news in the this country and its like 7/7 never happened, unless its some trendy study on why the poor muslims feel "left out of society" and putting forward trendy ideas to help intergrate them. And on the subject of media reporting, or rather the lack of it today we had an anti war rally in London. Yet what was not reported was that the leader of the protest is a Communist.

Now we have the Lib Dems jumping on the anti war band waggon squarking "troops out" at every opportunity. Yet not a thought as to what would happen if we did pull out before Iraq was ready to stand on its own in a hostile region of the world. My money would be on a violent bloody civil war, millions slaughtered and instability spreading to other nations.

Yet when we look at the main opposition party they are ripping themselves apart with petty infighting over who is going to lead them to another election defeat. A sad state as its not to difficult to find sleaze and ineptitude in this government and a well organised opposition would be a good thing for the country, alas at this time we do not have that.

Islamo Barbie/Fulla

DAMASCUS, Sept. 21 - In the last year or so, Barbie dolls have all but disappeared from the shelves of many toy stores in the Middle East. In their place, there is Fulla, a dark-eyed doll with, as her creator puts it, "Muslim values."

Jeroen Kramer/Getty Images, for The New York Times

The very popular Fulla doll is sold in the Middle East wearing either a black abaya or a white head scarf and long coat. Under these modest coverings, the dolls wear fashionable dresses.

"This isn't just about putting the hijab on a Barbie doll," Mr. Abidin said. "You have to create a character that parents and children will want to relate to. Our advertising is full of positive messages about Fulla's character. She's honest, loving, and caring, and she respects her father and mother."

Though Fulla will never have a boyfriend doll like Barbie's Ken, Mr. Abidin said, a Doctor Fulla and a Teacher Fulla will be introduced soon. "These are two respected careers for women that we would like to encourage small girls to follow," he said.

On the children's satellite channels popular in the Arab world, Fulla advertising is incessant. In a series of animated commercials, a sweetly high-pitched voice sings the Fulla song in Arabic ("She will soon be by my side, and I can tell her my deepest secrets") as a cartoon Fulla glides across the screen, saying her prayers as the sun rises, baking a cake to surprise her friend Yasmeen, or reading a book at bedtime - scenes that, Mr. Abidin said, are "designed to convey Fulla's values."

A series of commercials seems more familiarly sales-oriented, starring young Syrian actresses who present Fulla silverware, Fulla stationery, Fulla luggage and, of course, new accessories for Fulla herself. "When you take Fulla out of the house, don't forget her new spring abaya!" says one commercial.

In Damascus, a Fulla doll sells for about $16, in a country where average per capita income hovers around $100 per month. And yet, said Nawal al-Sayeedi, a clerk at the Space Toon toy store in the city's upscale Abou Roumaneh neighborhood, Fulla flies off the shelves.

When Iman Telmaz took her two young daughters back-to-school shopping recently, disaster struck. Ms. Telmaz had promised the girls, 10-year-old Alia and 5-year-old Aya, new pink Fulla backpacks for the start of the school year, and the stores were sold out.

Ms. Telmaz resolved to keep looking. "The children love their Fulla dolls," she said. "Aya is starting school for the first time, and has specially asked for a Fulla backpack. For these girls, it has to be Fulla."

Ms. Sayeedi, the toy store clerk, said she felt sorry for parents.

"If you've got a TV in the house, it's Fulla all the time," she said. "The parents complain about the expense. But Fulla gives girls a more Islamic character to emulate, and parents want that."

Not everyone sees Fulla as such a positive influence. Maan Abdul Salam, a Syrian women's rights advocate, said Fulla was emblematic of a trend toward Islamic conservatism sweeping the Middle East. Though statistics are hard to come by, he said, the percentage of young Arab women who wear the hijab is far higher now than it was a decade ago, and though many girls are wearing it by choice, others are being pressured to do so.

"If this doll had come out 10 years ago, I don't think it would have been very popular," he said. "Fulla is part of this great cultural shift."

"Syria used to be a very secular country," he added, "but when people don't have anything to believe in anymore, they turn toward religion."

Fatima Ghayeh, who at 15 is a few years past playing with dolls herself, said she felt "sad that no one plays with Barbie anymore." But, pressed for further explanation, Ms. Ghayeh, dressed in a white hijab and ankle-length khaki coat, appeared to change her mind.

"My friends and I loved Barbie more than anything," she said. "But maybe it's good that girls have Fulla now. If the girls put scarves on their dolls when they're young, it might make it easier when their time comes. Sometimes it is difficult for girls to put on the hijab. They feel it is the end of childhood." "Fulla shows girls that the hijab is a normal part of a woman's life," Ms. Ghayeh continued. She gestured behind her, at a pair of excited little girls examining a rack of Fulla-branded Frisbees and pool toys. "Now the girls only want Fulla."

But Jyza Sybai , a lanky, tomboyish Saudi 10-year-old, visiting Syria with her family for a short vacation, disagreed. "All my friends have Fulla now, but I still like Barbie the best," Jyza said. "She has blond hair and cool clothes. Every single girl in Saudi looks like Fulla, with the dark hair and the black scarf.

"What's so special about that?" (Next month the new Osama Bin Ken doll)

** The article mentions that Fulla is based in Syria and all over the place in Egypt, Jordan, and Qatar. But all four of these nations are ruled by more secular Islamic leaders. A complete doll would NOT be allowed in, say, fundamentalist Saudi Arabia--where the Muttawa (religious police) run the show.

Good News From Iraq - Yes there is some.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 9, 2005 – A recent poll in Iraq shows Iraqis do not support the terrorists launching attacks in their country, Defense Department officials speaking on background said here today.

However, officials said, the poll also shows that Iraqis want foreign troops to leave the country. An Iraqi company conducted the poll between July 12 and 17.

The poll - done as part of the Tips Hotline number campaign - was conducted in Baghdad, Basrah, Salah Ad-Din, Najaf, Diyala and Irbil. More than 1,200 Iraqis answered the questions.

An overwhelming number of Iraqis say there is no justification for attacks on Iraqi civilians, Iraqi security forces or Iraqi public service infrastructure. A total of 94 percent of Iraqis say there is no excuse for attacks on Iraqi security forces, 97 percent say there is no justification for attacking civilians, and 97 percent are against attacks on infrastructure.

The percentages slip when it comes to disapproval of violence against Iraqis working with the coalition and attacks against coalition personnel. A total of 81 percent of those polled are against attacks against Iraqis working with the coalition, with 12 percent saying there is justification for the attacks and 7 percent with no opinion. Half of those polled said there was no excuse for attacks against coalition personnel, while 40 percent said there is a justification and 10 percent saying they don't know.

What this means, officials said, is that Iraqis see foreign troops - and there are 138,000 Americans in the country - as occupation forces, and that the coalition policy of training Iraqis to take the lead in the security arena is the right policy.

And the Iraqis "get it," officials said. Iraqis are proud of their security forces - a sea change from the way most regarded the forces under Saddam Hussein. The poll shows 75 percent of Iraqis say their security forces are winning the fight against anti-government forces. Iraqis regard the security forces as representing the nation and not just one group (77 percent), and 73 percent of those polled believe the Iraqi police and military work within the law and respect the rights of the people. Almost 80 percent of those surveyed said the sooner that Iraqi forces maintain security, the sooner coalition forces can leave.

The poll showed some Iraqi misperceptions, officials said. A total of 64 percent of those surveyed said anti-government forces come mostly from other countries. Coalition officials said most anti-government terrorists are Iraqis.

Finally, 62 percent of the Iraqis surveyed said the security situation in Iraq has gotten "much better" (16 percent) or "somewhat better" (46 percent) in the past three months. Twenty percent of those surveyed said the security situation was "somewhat worse" and 14 percent said the security situation was "much worse" than three months ago.

UNDERSTANDING ISLAM - and other Islamonazi bits.

what to do with them pesky non muslims who get in the way of Jihad?

Qur’an 9:123 “murder them and treat them harshly”

Qur’an 3.28 Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming.
NOTE: By ‘guarding carefully’, a Muslim should deceive the infidel. Acting as a friend is fine as long as it is to benefit the Muslim and protect Islam.

Qur’an 3:56 “As for those disbelieving infidels, I will punish them with a terrible agony in this world and the next. They have no one to help or save them.”

Qur’an 4.89 They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah’s way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.

Qur’an 5:51 “Muslims, do not make friends with any but your own people.”

Qur’an 5:72 “They are surely infidels who say; ‘God is the Christ, the Messiah, the son of Mary.”

Qur’an 8:12 cp. 8:60 “Instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers”; “smite above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them”

Qur’an 2:191 “...kill the disbelievers wherever we find them”

Qur’an 9.33 He it is Who sent His Apostle with guidance and the religion of truth, that He might cause it to prevail over all religions.

Qur’an 2:193 “And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah”

Qur’an 8:71 And if they intend to act unfaithfully towards you, so indeed they acted unfaithfully towards Allah before, but He GAVE YOU MASTERY OVER THEM

Qur’an 8:55 Surely the vilest of animals in Allah’s sight are those who disbelieve.

Qur’an 22:19-22 “fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem” “for them (the unbelievers) garments of fire shall be cut and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water whereby whatever is in their bowels and skin shall be dissolved and they will be punished with hooked iron rods”

Qur’an 48:13 Those who “believe not in Allah and His Messenger, He has prepared, for those who reject Allah, a Blazing Fire!”

Qur’an 3:54 “‘Lord, we believe in Your revelations (the Torah and Gospels) and follow this Apostle (Jesus). Enroll us among the witnesses.’ But the Christians contrived a plot and Allah did the same; but Allah’s plot was the best.”

Qur’an 8:12 “Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: ‘I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes.”

Qur’an 8:58 “If you apprehend treachery from any group on the part of a people (with whom you have a treaty), retaliate by breaking off (relations) with them. The infidels should not think they can bypass (Islamic law or the punishment of Allah). Surely they cannot escape.”

Qur’an 8:7 “Allah wished to confirm the truth by His words: ‘Wipe the infidels (non-Muslims) out to the last.’”

Qur’an 8:39 “So, fight them till all opposition ends and the only religion is Islam.”

Qur’an 8:59 “The infidels should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them. They are your enemy and Allah’s enemy.”

Qur’an 8:60 “Prepare against them (non-Muslims) whatever arms and cavalry you can muster that you may strike terror in the enemies of Allah (non-Muslims), and others besides them not known to you. Whatever you spend in Allah’s Cause will be repaid in full, and no wrong will be done to you.”

Qur’an 8:7 “Allah wished to confirm the truth by His words: ‘Wipe the infidels (non-Muslims) out to the last.’”

Qur’an 4:101 “The unbelievers (non-Muslims) are your inveterate foe.”

Bukhari:V4B56N814 “There was a Christian who embraced Islam and he used to write the revelations for the Prophet. Later on he returned to Christianity again he used to say: ‘Muhammad knows nothing but what I have written for him.’”

Qur’an 9.28 O you who believe! the idolaters are nothing but unclean, so they shall not approach the Sacred Mosque (Mecca) after this year; and if you fear poverty then Allah will enrich you out of His grace if He please; surely Allah is Knowing Wise.

Advancement of the Jihad.

Qur’an 33.27 And He made you heirs to their land and their dwellings and their property, and (to) a land which you have not yet trodden, and Allah has power over all things.

Qur’an 21:44 Do they see Us advancing, gradually reducing the land (in their control).

Qur’an 47:4 So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so); and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish.

Qur’an 21:44 Do they see Us advancing, gradually reducing the land (in their control), curtailing its borders on all sides? It is they who will be overcome.

Qur’an 47.35 And be not slack so as to cry for peace and you have the upper hand, and Allah is with you, and He will not bring your deeds to naught.

Bukhari:V4B53N412 “Allah’s Apostle said on the day of the conquest of Mecca, ‘There is no migration now, only Jihad, holy battle. And when you are called for Jihad, you should come out at once.’”

Brave Islamic warriors hide behind children:

BAGHDAD, Iraq – One child was killed and another injured when terrorists used them as human shields during Coalition forces raids of three terrorist safe houses Sept. 20.

Based on tips from concerned citizens and multiple intelligence sources, Coalition forces raided two suspected safe houses to capture known terrorists operating in the city of Mosul. The terrorists were believed to have senior al-Qaida in Iraq connections in Mosul and northern Iraq.

Upon entry into the first terrorist safe house, Coalition forces were engaged with small-arms fire by three terrorists in the house. The forces immediately returned fire, resulting in the death of two terrorists and the wounding of another.

During the firefight, one of the terrorists used a small child to shield himself as he fired on Coalition forces. Coalition forces returned fire, slightly wounding the child in the exchange of gunfire. The child and wounded terrorist were evacuated and are currently being treated at a local field hospital. Both are expected to recover from their wounds.

Coalition forces then moved to a second suspected terrorist safe house where they were again engaged with small-arms fire. Coalition forces returned fire and killed one terrorist. Several terrorists fled the safe house into a third house nearby. Coalition forces pursued the men and in the ensuing firefight killed four more terrorists.

Unbeknownst to Coalition forces, one of the terrorists picked up a small child as he was fleeing the second safe house. During the firefight, the hostage-holding terrorist was shot. The same bullet that killed him also killed the child as it exited the terrorist’s body.

Some more savages removed from US streets:

LOS ANGELES - Three men charged in a terror investigation were planning shooting rampages at Los Angeles-area military sites to retaliate for what they called the oppression of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to court documents.

The men were indicted last month on federal charges of conspiring to wage war against the U.S. government through terrorism. All three — Levar H. Washington, 25, Gregory V. Patterson, 21, and Hammad R. Samana, 21 — have pleaded not guilty.

Appearing in Los Angeles Thursday, FBI Director Robert Mueller praised local police agencies that uncovered the alleged plot in July while investigating a string of gas station robberies.

"Terrorist threats against the city and county of Los Angeles ... were prevented," Mueller said.

According to an FBI affidavit unsealed recently, Washington told authorities he was the leader of a "council" of Muslims who planned to carry out operations in Southern California as part of a jihad, or holy war, against the United States.

EU military attaches walked out in protest at a parade in Tehran

Thursday after ballistic missiles were rolled past carrying vitriolic anti-US and Israeli slogans, diplomats told AFP.

"There was a common position among the European Union members that, if the military parade included any slogans that attacked our allies, we would leave," said a diplomat.

"The military attaches from the embassies of France, Italy, Greece and Poland were present at the parade, and when they saw the slogans they promptly left," said another diplomat. READ MORE

At the parade, Iran showed off six of its Shahab-3 medium-range ballistic missiles sporting banners reading "Death to America", "We will crush America under our feet", "Death to Israel" and "Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth".

"They may be just slogans, but for us they are unacceptable," one of the diplomats said.

The military event was held just south of Tehran to mark the start of "Sacred Defence Week", dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Iranians killed after the forces of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein invaded in It also coincided with mounting tensions between Iran and the EU over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

Soldier gets Bronze Star for saving Soldiers in canal

Spc. Matthew Wester

TAJI, Iraq – A routine mission turned into a moment of courage for one Task Force Baghdad Soldier last April. In the blink of an eye, a non-commissioned officer was forced to make several quick decisions, even as enemy bullets were raining down on him.

Sgt. Cory J. Scott, a squad leader with A Company, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, was recently awarded a Bronze Star Medal with a "V" Device for valor for his actions on April 3 during a mission south of Baghdad.

Scott and nine other Soldiers were on a mission to conduct a census of a rural area. They completed the survey, but an enemy ambush was waiting for them when their convoy rolled out of the neighborhood.

"We heard some noise like some people screaming out, and they started firing (rocket-propelled grenades) at us," said Scott, a Reynolds, Ga., native. "My guys immediately started firing toward the enemy. By this time, I was looking around, trying to assess the situation."

His squad spread out, sought cover near a concrete canal and took up firing positions.

"My A and B Team leaders were on the right side hugging the canal, and all of a sudden, they disappeared. Then, the third rifleman disappeared," he said.

The Soldiers were out of sight because they had fallen down the steep sides of the canal and were struggling to stay afloat in the swift current.

Scott quickly organized an attempt to get them out of the water.

He removed his belt and told two other Soldiers to remove their belts as well. Scott tied the belts together and made a makeshift rope.

He threw the lifeline into the canal, but the first of the Soldiers in the canal couldn’t hold on and was pulled underwater by the current.

"He grabbed the belt and it just slipped out of his hands," Scott said. "He went under."

The other two Soldiers couldn't get a grip on the belts either, so Scott improvised again by breaking a long antenna off a radio and dangling it near the troops.

Scott said the enemy noticed the squad's efforts to rescue their buddies and focused small-arms fire on the sides of the canal. Now, he had to contend with not only the raging canal water, but also more bullets and grenades.

"The rounds were landing about five to six feet from me. Then they tried to shoot the guys in the water," he said.

Shrugging off the AK-47 fire, Scott fished out two of the three stranded Soldiers. Spc. William D. Richardson, the Soldier who went underwater, was lost in the current and died.

Sgt. Dustin Garner, one of the Soldiers Scott pulled out of the canal, said he would have drowned if Scott did not think on his feet and use the antenna to help him out of the water.

Garner, a Fort Riley, Kan., resident and team leader for 2nd Plt., thinks Scott's actions were worthy of the Bronze Star. "He does deserve it," Garner said. "If he hadn't been on his toes thinking, or been concerned about where we were, he might not have noticed us out there in the canal."

Although he was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Scott said the medal was a reminder of his whole squad's efforts to save their comrades.

"If we didn't work as a team, then we would have had a lot more casualties," he said. "Everybody went beyond the call of duty that day."

** Shame we never hear about that from our so called state broadcaster? Guess that go's against all the doom and gloom that the BBC loves to report. Bet half of their lefty reporters get a hardon the moment they hear about a car bomb or another death in Iraq.

Red Ken Livingstone the terrorists friend (cont)

Well I have said before that the so called leader of London is a loon, and give the man credit he makes it easy for me to prove it:

LONDON -- Acts of terrorism are sometimes justified, London Mayor Ken Livingstone said Thursday. There was often no other way to fight oppression than using "the assassin's bullet or the assassin's bomb," he added.

Speaking at a London news conference, Livingstone, labeled "Red Ken" for his outspoken and often controversial political views, said he had known terrorists whom he viewed as "courageous and principled."

Asked by United Press International whether he supported the British government's plans for new anti-terror legislation, announced last week, Livingstone said he was concerned the proposed offense of "glorifying terrorism" was very hard to define.

"It is very easy for politicians in the west to make these random denunciations of terrorist attacks, but then I have known terrorists that I viewed as courageous and principled," he said.

Livingstone cited the example of a German Jewish friend whose job in the German Communist Party had been to kill Nazis.

** So there you have it from the loons mouth. Guess the victims of 7/7 and all people who find mass murder wrong know who not to vote for in the next election. Truely what a rancid little turd this man is.

Reminder to Red Ken, this is what democracy offers. Women in Afganistan can now vote.

Islamonazi bits

1/ down. A California man has been indicted on a federal charge of providing material support to terrorists, it was reported Friday.

Hamid Hayat, 23, of Lodi, Calif., previously was charged with lying to the FBI about his alleged involvement with terrorist training camps in Pakistan.

The new charge accuses Hayat of receiving training at one of the jihadist camps in Pakistan for more than two years, the Sacramento Bee said. Specifically, the indictment charges Hayat with being trained "in physical fitness, firearms and means to wage jihad."

2/ down. A British Muslim convert detained at the Channel Tunnel in October 2003 has been found guilty of two charges of having articles for use in terrorism.

Andrew Rowe, 34, was convicted for having instructions on using a mortar, and secret code on a piece of paper.

The jury could not reach a verdict on a third charge of having articles for use in terrorism relating to socks with traces of explosives on them.

Rowe, from Maida Vale, west London, had denied the charges....

Hand-written instructions on how to fire a mortar and the secret code were found at addresses in London and Birmingham linked to Rowe.

The code substituted names of mobile phones for words including money, trouble-police, weapon, airport and army base, prosecutor Mark Ellison said.

There were also codes for explosive materials, making it a "shopping list for terrorism", Mr Ellison said.

He also said Rowe had travelled extensively after converting to Islam, including to places of conflict, and had had four passports in seven years.

Rowe told the court he had converted to Islam at the age of 19 in a bid to alter his lifestyle after taking and selling drugs.

** Excuses excuses excuses. End of the day he was a sick twisted bastard, who alas killed other people and died far to quickly. Here's hoping he is burning in hell.

THE widow of one of the July 7 suicide bombers told how her “innocent and naive” husband had been poisoned by elements in radical mosques as she cradled their new born baby daughter in her arms.

Samantha Lewthwaite said that she “totally abhorred” the actions of her husband Jermaine Lindsay, who killed 26 people on a Piccadilly Line tube train near King’s Cross; but she said that she still wore the white gold ring her husband had given her and would pass it on to their first child, a son, Abdullah, when he marries. Ms Lewthwaite, 21, a Muslim convert, said that her husband had been a peaceful man whose behaviour changed when he began visiting mosques in London and Luton.

She said: “His behaviour gradually began to change. He turned from the man that I married. In hindsight I can now see exactly what was happening to him and why. How these people could have turned him and poisoned his mind is dreadful. He was an innocent, naive and simple man. I suppose he must have been an ideal candidate.”

WASHINGTON - Emboldened by Israel's withdrawal from Gaza and part of the West Bank, Hamas yesterday announced its plan to turn a synagogue in Netzarim into a museum that would display weapons employed by the terrorist group's members against Israeli civilians. A statement issued yesterday by Hamas said, "Qassam rockets and other locally made arms will be exposed, since it is the legal weapon that evicted the occupation forces." The Middle East Media Research Institute yesterday reported that recent sermons delivered by Hamas leaders pledged to resist efforts from the Palestinian Authority to disarm the organization ahead of upcoming elections...

Three Islamic Jihad terrorists responsible for the slaughter at Tel Aviv's Stage Club on February 25th were killed trying to avoid arrest by Israeli troops just before dawn Friday morning.

The three were killed during a joint IDF, Israeli Police and Shabak (General Security Services) operation near Baka al-Gharbia (10 miles from the Mediterranean coast between Tel Aviv and Haifa), aimed at arresting them. They were found in Ilaar, southeast of the city, holed up in a building. Security forces surrounded the building and called on them to give themselves up. At a certain point, two of the terrorists burst out of the house, shooting at troops and trying to escape. They were shot and killed. The third terrorist succeeded in escaping toward the neighboring village of Tzaida, but was shot as he fled.

No member of Israeli security forces was injured during the operation.

One of the terrorists was identified as Ra'ed J'ajaj. He has been wanted since 2003 and has recently become the Islamic Jihad boss in the village of Tzaida. The other two terrorists were Jamil Abu Sa'ada, 25 and Sa'id al-Ashkar, 23, who is close with Islamic Jihad's leadership

Coalition operation captures 15 terror suspects

TAJI, Iraq - Elements of the 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division captured 15 members of a suspected terrorist cell thought to be operating north of Baghdad during the late evening hours of Sept. 18.

Soldiers from the Brigade’s Reconnaissance Troop and the 1st Battalion, 13th Armored Regiment patrolling in the area saw a small group of terrorists attempting to establish an ambush position along a major highway. The Soldiers fired on the would-be attackers and the terrorists fled.

The units followed some of the fleeing men to a safe house where they engaged a larger group of terrorists. By the end of the engagement, the 3rd Brigade Soldiers had killed one terrorist, wounded four, and detained 15 terror suspects.

The Soldiers evacuated the wounded terrorists to a military hospital for treatment and processed the remaining 15 into a Coalition Forces detention facility.

One less to worry about: CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq-- A male Iraqi detainee died Sept. 20 after attacking a Marine at an Entry Control Point in Fallujah.
