Military on patrol in New Orleans devastation | ||||||

Simon Darby, the BNP Deputy Leader was one of the delegation which visited New Orleans in May this year to address the EURO Conference organised by American European Civil Rights Leader, David Duke. Simon here gives some personal comments about the media coverage of the hurricane which destroyed that proud city. Paying close attention to the media coverage of the devastating hurricane that recently swept through New Orleans I wondered just when it would be before the BBC seized on the opportunity to put a racial angle on the disaster. Surprisingly it wasn’t until Saturday morning that the BBC’s Bill Turnbull decided to engage in a little Afrocentric kite flying by suggesting that if the victims had been white the US government would have reacted more efficiently. This of course was the cue to parade a multitude of Afro-American spokespeople with Michigan congresswoman Carolyn Kilpatrick (a member of a member of the Congressional Black Caucus) leading the way declaring she, “was ashamed to be an American”. Meanwhile the Rev. Jesse Jackson was somewhat less tactful declaring that the conditions of the survivors of the hurricane reminded him of, “Africans in the hull of a slave ship”. Having granted the black community the status of an identity you might have expected someone from the BBC to ask one of its ethnocentric ambassadors about the horrific levels of looting, car-jacking, murder and rape. However, trying to portray anyone from the African American community as anything other than a victim was obviously too challenging a task for our “hideously white” state broadcaster. One-way racism Yet we should not be too hard on the BBC’s foreign correspondents. You only have to decipher a month’s domestic BBC news coverage to find plenty of examples of how the issue of race seems to cut just one way. Just last week for example, we found the BBC triumphantly announcing the news that Asian businesses accounted for £100 billion of this country’s economic output. Going further the beeb openly boasted of how Asian people make up just 4% of the population but accounted for 10% of economic output – end of story. Now imagine for a moment how the BBC would have reacted if a massive over- representation of white business output compared to population had been uncovered. You can just envisage the concerned politicians, government task forces and “community spokesmen” busy chewing down at Auntie’s Anglophobic feeding frenzy. Sports coverage Turning to sport, and we can all remember how the last Olympic Games was shamefully hi-jacked by the BBC as an example of how multiracialism has been “proved”. Yet when the all-white England cricket team stand on the cusp of retaining The Ashes for the first time in eighteen years, consistently outperforming the world champions armed with the greatest leg spinner the world has ever seen, the BBC’s multiracial theorists remain embarrassingly silent. It’s just the same with football and the massively disproportionate number of Afro-Caribbeans in the England side. When the team play well, it’s an example of how wonderful multiculturalism is. However, when the team put in a truly shocking performance, as they did against Denmark, well that’s just “inconsequential”. It is the same blinkered thinking that has lead to the truly shocking statistic from the carnage in New Orleans being completely overlooked. For having the prior “advantage” of decades of enforced diversity and equality, the professional multiracialists have managed to genetically modify this once great city to the point that it is now 68% Afro-American. In fact the white population of New Orleans has been surreptitiously ethnically cleansed to the point where it hovers around 25%. Yet, whilst the BBC skilfully try to cover up this elephant in the sitting room, not all of the millions of British viewers can be fooled. To many of our people, especially the young, the elimination of white people and our culture under the guise of celebrating diversity is being graphically played out on their television screens like some grotesque “Grand Theft Ethno” computer game. Social engineering Yet, just after the Islamic suicide bombers brought havoc to the streets of London, it was the government’s idea that we should adopt this very same American model. A model it appears, where the end product results in shocking levels of poverty for the black population and where the whites, whilst still receiving the blame, are socially engineered out of existence. Might I ask is there some kind of quantitative figure involved with the reduction of the white population whereabouts racial equilibrium is achieved and social utopia pervades or will the legacy of white rule be blamed after we have all disappeared? Call me old fashioned but I happen to think that pointing out rather politely that white people have, as we say in Britain, been sold a pup, doesn’t warrant a jail sentence. Having said that, standing as I did in May under the Robert E Lee memorial in the centre of New Orleans does not entitle me to mention Charlton Heston, a beach and a protruding statue of liberty. Instead I’ll leave the final words to a white liberal , who having previously worked in Haiti, telephoned a Louisiana radio station after the hurricane with the somewhat prophetic offering, “"Well, you know, I had always hoped that Haiti would become more like New Orleans, but what's happened is, New Orleans has become more like Haiti”.
