Now I was going to leave ol George Galloway MP alone for a while, but like that turd in the toilet that wont vanish no matter how much you flush he just keeps coming back. I did say that I would like to be behind Galloway, but only if the shit was on his way to the scaffold.
Here are some figures that George may not want voters to know about: Since the election in May he has tabled just 1 written question. He has spoken in the Commons a mere 4 times. Must be all those trips to the hated US of A taking up his time...Oh yes and he has voted in 18 out of 112 divisions - thats 16.1%
Yes some have voted less than him, a certain Mr Blair (whoever he is?) and the Sinn Fein MP's who refused to take up their seats.
So much for his grand words: "speak for those who have nobody else to speak for them...the trade unions, the immigrants, the poor people, the people who prefer peace to war."
He was quick to make demands over the attorney-generals action on the al-Jazeera memo which is supposed to reveal Americas desire to bomb their tv studios, saying he would and I quote: "demand that the government confirm or deny that President George Bush intended to bomb the al-Jazeera television station in Qatar at the time of the assault on Falluja"
All tough sounding talk you may think, yet he has failed to put a single question to the government on this matter. Neither has he signed either of the early day motions lodged by Peter Kilfoyle just last week. These motions demand that the government publish in full a transcript of supposed chat between Bush/Blair. Yet 38 other MP's have managed to sign those motions by the end of last week.
** Oh yes, and here's a little item I noticed about Iraqi's protesting against al-Jazeera calling it a "terrorist channel.
NAJAF, Iraq (AFP) - Hundreds of Iraqi Shiites protested in Najaf and Baghdad against what they claimed were defamatory comments about Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani aired on the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television. Alls not well at al-Jazeera first the fun over the secret memo and now Iraqis protesting against them
**Finally had this pinged over to me, one of those silly season drinking stories:
BERLIN (Reuters) - Two German women have been arrested for giving a Hitler salute and singing a neo-Nazi song to foreign tourists on their way to Germany's Sachsenhausen concentration camp museum, prosecutors said Thursday.
"The tour group was joined on a commuter train platform by two women who marched alongside them, sang the song 'White Aryan resistance' and gave them the Hitler salute," the prosecutors office in Neuruppin, Germany, said in a statement.
The 18- and 19-year-old women, who were under the influence of alcohol at the time, were taken into police custody, the prosecutors said. Germany has strict laws banning the use of Nazi symbols and expression of Nazi ideas.
The 36 tourists given the Hitler salute were traveling under the motto "Concentration Camp Memorial Tour" and came from the United States, New Zealand, Canada, the Netherlands and Singapore, the statement said.
The incident took place in Brandenburg, a state in the former communist East, where far right parties get a much larger share of the votes than they do in the West.
An official at the prosecutors office told Reuters that he was unable to provide further details about the incident because the investigation was still at a very preliminary stage.
