** What is it with The Guardian and looney tosspots? We have Polly Toynbee and now this Faisal Bodi person. Seems that our reporter has a hair up his ass about the red cross. Also he seems not to like the 3 lions either. His bit is below with my comments on the end...
Just for the record, a red cross won't be flapping out of my car during the World Cup. And that's not only because the damned thing is too closely associated with the far right. - ** Well no its just a flag and like any other flag can be used to represent anything people want it to.
The cross, and the three lions for that matter, are Christian symbols, adopted by the crusaders for a historical episode that not only brought immense suffering to Muslims and eastern Christians alike, but which created the jaundiced lens through which much of the west would view Islam down the centuries. -** Oh dear we do have a jaundiced view of the west, one could turn your whole arguement back on you saying that jihadist imperialism from the Ottomans etc has done much harm to the nations affected by that and is still going on today. As for the Crusades well that was a long time back, methinks you need to let that go.
SpeakerToAnimals1 in the comments section came up with a classic:
Fair enough - don't fly the flag.Bodi's inane whittering can be found here: Another Guardian Tosser
Each to his own.
I won't be strapping a bomb to myself.

Brilliant blog.
I used to be with Faisal Bodi at college and he was a tosspot them, always getting in trouble with the authorities and even nearly being expelled a number of times because of things I won't mention here.
