Terrorist leader captured:
Iraqi terrorist leader wanted for murders, including 2004 attack in KarbalaBAGHDAD, Iraq – A key insurgent leader in Iraq , Sheikh Ahmed Hussein Dabash Samir al- Batawi, aka Ahmed al-Dabash, was captured May 29, by Iraqi and Coalition forces in the Ameriya neighborhood in the Mansour district of Baghdad.
Sheikh Ahmed al-Dabash was a major financier and facilitator of terrorism in Iraq , most notably the bomb attack in the Shiite holy city of Karbala on March 2, 2004. Several pre-set explosives were detonated near one of the most important Shiite Shrines in Iraq – the Golden Dome Mosque. Over 140 Iraqis were murdered and hundreds wounded in the attack that occurred during the Shiite observance of Ashoura, a time when thousands of pilgrims gathered in Karbala . It is believed that al-Dabash was also responsible for the attack on the Shiite al-Tawhid Mosque in Baghdad and for facilitating other terror attacks around Baghdad .
In addition to al-Dabash himself being a notorious leader of terror in Iraq , Iraqi and Coalition Forces consider his capture significant as they believe he will provide critical information on other terror groups as he has close ties to al- Qaida in Iraq and the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi network.
The Iraqi Central Investigating Court in Baghdad issued an arrest warrant for Ahmed al-Dabash on January 9, 2005, citing his violation of Iraqi Penal Code 194 - committing terrorist acts.
Iraqi and Coalition intelligence officials and security forces tracked al-Dabash in a determined manhunt and over the last two years have arrested several of his enablers and underlings who followed al-Dabash's command to commit terror.

** Lastly and totally non related to anything to do with Iraq or terrorism is the funny comment of the week from Deputy PM John Leslie "2 inches" Prescott MP who said: he had now taken a "personal decision" to give up Dorneywood because the public controversy over it was "getting in the way of doing my job".
That would of course be the job that was taken off him in the reshuffle last month, of course this has nothing to do with him being embroiled in a sleaze story about porking some office bike (Tracey Temple) behind his wife of 40+ years back, whilst being a total hypocrite in lambasting politicians of other parties who were caught with their pants down.
** Best John Leslie "2 inches" Prescott quote I have heard: "Having sex with Prescott must be like having a wardrobe laying on you with the key sticking out of the door."
** The pic was on the recess monkey site, and it does make you wonder what the Zanu New Labour shytes are going to flog off next after Blairs wife still has not appologised over the signed Hutton report. Still what are we to expect from a 2nd rate bunch of spivs out to line their own pockets.
