The ruling Zanu New Labour party has decided that it is going to grant an amnesty for illegal aliens here in the UK. At a stroke it will solve the whole problem of deporting people, as after all once they are UK citizens that will stop problems with employing them and they wont have to deport them. Its NOT a failure, we er really need lots more people. Honest guv.
"...home office officials are preparing a report on a possible amnesty for up to 570,000 illegal immigrants. Liam Byrne, the Immigration Minister, disclosed the move last night and did not rule out allowing illegal immigrants to legitimise their position in the country... ...[Liam Byrne] When asked whether he was ruling out an amnesty, he told MPs on the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee: It is too early to tell..."
Not that they are doing a good job on deporting them, as we still have the 1023 that were let out of prison instead of being deported, most of those are still unaccounted for. Oh and of course illegals employed by the Home Office - the very department - that is in charge of deporting them.
...the number of illegal immigrants in Britain is officially estimated at between 310,000 and 570,000, though last month Dave Roberts, the head of enforcement at the Immigration Service, provoked a storm of criticism when he admitted that he did not have the faintest idea how many illegal migrants were in the country....
Typical of this government as they have failed to resolve the illegal migration problem they think a simple change of the rules - ie give them citizenship - will make it all ok.
Maybe they should think about the following points:
When they are UK citizens they will be able to get council housing, has the government a plan on that or are they about to blame local councils for the problems in housing them.
School places, a lot of these people who travel around have children with them and places will need to be found, same as above has the government a policy in place for that or is that down to local councils again?
Social Security, at present they are unable to claim an amnesty and of course we know that full citizenship will be a part of that - if not right away then shortly after - then there will be an added burden on the state created by the payments needed to be funded.
The NHS, already straining at the seams through constant mis management on the part of this government the added influx of people can only add to waiting lists and make problems worse, of course the blame will be passed from government onto the various health trusts.
Tax, now this is the big one. On the one side it could be argued that they will then be able to work legally and pay tax, it will help keep some away from the gangs they live off these people. On the other tax will have to be sorted out for at least 300,000 people (maybe more even the government is not sure on the figures - see above) and our tax system is not the fastest in the world at sorting out peoples tax codes as it is. Add a huge backlog of people onto the system and it will become another agency like the CSA!
