A record number of rogue directors were banned from Britain's boardrooms in
1999, DTI figures showed yesterday. The total reached 1,489, from 1,350 in
1998, with a confidential public hotline given credit by DTI minister Kim
Howells for much of the increase.
Yesterday the DTI was granted a 10-year ban on Keith Chorlton, of Chepstow,
Monmouthshire, from serving as a director for serious misconduct as an
executive of the now-insolvent dating agency Close Encounters of the Best
Kind, including the transfer to himself from the agency of £464,000.
Dr Howells said this behaviour "is a perfect example of how a director can
get himself a date with the court".

Oh take a look at that date, seems that Mr Chorlton has forgotten that he is not supposed to be running a company oh and I have heard the good news that Dial the dubious company run by Mr Chorlton has now lost the Talk Talk contract, seems even Talk Talk have certain standards. i currentley work for yes loans and i think it is a reputible company who have no illegal practices. Kieth Chorlton is not the owner of the company but an advisor TOO the company.If you look at statistics of other loan firms they have just as bad press as yes loans.....

Also Yes Loans is NOT a loan company - they broker loans - there is a major difference there.

Nice to hear about tv cameras, nothing like seeing the media getting their hands dirty exposing people like Chorlton.
He may have made a mint but quite how long he will hang onto it is another matter, I understand that the penalties for breaking a ban on being a director are rather severe.
I am sure that even with the many problems with the home office, they will manage to find a cell for old Keith and Alan.

A little bird told me that Keith Chorlton has a plan to leave this Sally Hill in charge of Yes Loans and Blue Sky and head off to the sun. This means that he can not be heald responsible for being a disqualified director who is running a company, as someone else will be in charge. He also wants to sell the company to cash his money in, but I can not think of anyone who would want to buy a company from such a crook. Mind you, as soon as Sally Hill finds out that he has stolen all her shares and what she holds are now worthless, she will become his enemy as well. On the other hand, if Joy Chorlton finds out what he has been up to with Sally Hill, maybe we will not have to wait quite so long to see her chucked out. Wonder if Keith will give her the shares back when she leaves. Dont hold your breath Sally!!!!!!!!!!!
That all makes a lot of sense. You know he has those little windows in his office door so you can hardly see into it. Well i was walking past there recently to go to the canteen, even though he does not like anyone to walk past his office, but F&^*k him. Anyway, looked in to see what he was up to and, well i leave it to your imagination what he and our new boss were up to. Talk about a close working relationship.
I put a bit in about my little bird telling me about what Keith Chorlton is planning and have had this confirmed. He is definitely going to move to Spain to escape from all the mess. Now, here is an interesting thing. Do you know who negotiated the deal with the liquidators of the Dial call center when it went into administration? No surprises that it was Keith Chorlton. So here is a question. How is it that a disqualified director was able to get a call center? And how is it that he was able to negotiate the deal, when it is illegal for him to control a company. He got the call center because he said that he was securing the jobs of the people that were there, but really it was so that he had somewhere to put Crossit, Yes Loans and Blue Sky, which is the company he stole by getting 51% of the shares and then kicking out the owners and their wives.
Now here is another question that my little bird has told me. If he is a disqualified director and not allowed to control a company, why is it that he was able to get the shares in Blue Sky and then take it under his control into Cwmbran?

know of this guy and basically a gangster but a well connected one, ever heard of the incident in a local village pub a good fe years back where a friend of Chorlton's attacked a local for bobbing his head in front of a TV screen causing serious GBH, his friend robin horsford, ex SAS guy, when it came to court "case dismissed" despite a number of witnesses!!!
Crossit marketing, KC consultancy, Yes, blues sky etc.. it was rumoured alot of the data held in these businesses is/was being sold and used illegally contrary to the data protection act.

I was there when KWC took over dial. I used to work for dial -nearly 5 years. A great company to work for. We rented out half the building to YL. For months he bragged about how he was going to get dial. Here's how he did it. The deal with dial was that we paid YL's staff's salary. This meant dial was elligible for a WDA grant. In Feb 06, dial's cash flow was dodgy due to carphone warehouse changing their payment methods to their outsourcing call centres. Dial staff hadn't been paid for January, but were loyal to the management and knuckled down to work while we were waiting for the cash to arrive. This is when KWC made his move. Just before the WDA grant was to arrive, he forced his staff to resign from dial and take up new contracts with YL. This meant that dial didn't qulify for a grant. Who told the Welsh Office? I;m sure you can guess. For a complaint to be looked at by the WDA, to give it credibilty, there had to be support from a director from dial. KWC did his usual stuff, offered wads of cash to a dial turncoat along with the promise of a directorship with YL. One phone call to the WDA and the grant was stopped, cash flow dried up and dial had to cease trading. The verbal abuse from KWC to the dial director was obscene. It was disgusting. KWC convinced most of the dial staff that it was the dial MD's fault, and turned a few against him, even though he was the instigator of the whole mess. A week later, KWC 'owned' dial. Lots of dial staff just walked out - no job to go to. Some of these people couldn't afford to leave, but could not work for him. I remember the earlier days when dial were showing new potential clients around only to hear KWC's offspring effing and blinding throughout the place. We would have to send scouts around to make sure we led the clients away from them. Dial was a great company to work for with many high profile clients - Virgin, SKYTV, Premier League, British Gas. What a waste. KWC destroyed all those years that were spent building the business. Shame on you KWC.

How is Chorlton getting away with this? The disqualified directors act prescribes that anyone banned under it may not 'directly or INDIRECTLY take part in the formation, promotion or management of a ltd company'. Now surely its not that hard to prove he is indirectly involved with the management of yes loans. Does anyone have any idea if there has been any previous attempts to prosecute him under the Act? His ban expires in 2010 so I think its about time there was a serious effort to prevent this man living the rest of his days in the life of luxury he's 'earned' through his life of crime. Any information with regards to enforcement of the DDA or what proof would be needed to make a case against him hold would be much appreciated.

my girlfriend who works there said lots of his managers and staff left in the blue sky mortgage part this year cos they were all changing wage slips, and making them up of the net.
They were saying people earned more than they did, to get more money and so it would get accepted when they couldn't really pay for the loan.
She said he let some back who he liked to go to other jobs, but the top managers who knew it was going on stayed and one bought a brand new porsche or something.
she hates it ,she comes homes crying all the time, but needs the money,its awful for the staff and people are only nice to him cos tay is scarad or for wages,even his friends.

Ive recently quit my job at yes loans, luckly ive got out of that shithole and got myself a new job as they are going under, and good enough for them. The managers and team leaders talk to people like shit on the bottom of their shoe, and the worst for doing this is Lee Simmons he's got a very bad attitude problem, I dont know anyone down there who's got a good thing to say about him. Kieth Chorlton is very crafty as he has made his son James Chorlton the managing director who is also a big headed twat. With regards to customer service its the biggest joke ever, staff are taught to rush through the application so quick that customers dont know whether they are coming or going, and ripped off by paying a processing fee of £59.50 which is never actually processed to any lenders apart from Welcome finance that are as much good as a chocolate tea pot. And if your told you will recieve your money back minus a £5 aministration charge its also rubbish. They swindle people left right and centre even their own staff not just the customers! Keith Chorlton is driving around in 2 bentleys, an austin martin and a range rover. He also owns his own lake house and a boat, what a f**king joke and he's only got all of this because your putting 60 quid in his pocket. Put your story forward to the papers, throw some more bad publicity at him and stop him from ripping everyone off.
