MP's Want More Money - Jessica Morden MP as an example.

So the MP's want some extra cash do they, they honestly believe that they are worth extra money taken from the hard working tax payers? Poor lambs feel hard done by do they? One can only assume that this will somehow be preformance related? They will show exactly how much work they do, somehow justify the amount they get from the public purse?

Well maybe not. After all lets take a look at one of my local MPs and what this MP does? Does this MP vote for the best interests of the public or the party? Does this MP put the people first, or just rubber stamp anything shoved in front of its cute little nose bless her?

Take a look at the link and see that end column maked "role" - never rebels. Not once has this MP ever said - "I think you are wrong." about her party, true this is the woman who got her hands dirty sticking the knife into Ron "Badger" Davies for the party, true she then reaped the reward(and 30 pieces of silver) of getting on an women shortlist and has paid the party back by being a loyal little bunny(boiler)

Jessica Morden MP's voting record

And they have the cheek to ask for more money for their 160 days' work [PDF] every year. Still notice that her last turn in the House was on 31st Oct. Sure she has written a few letters back to people, maybe even done the odd filler spot on tv or fluff pr for the party, but is that worth any extra money. Although to be fair the woman did give the GLC a mention in her first speech in the house. Below is an extract from her maiden speech, makes you proud that of all the deep political issues of the day that an MP can find time to whitter on about the GLC.

Some might say that the renaissance in Newport is due to the popularity of the GLC—not the Greater London council but the Goldie Lookin' Chain, Newport's rap stars whose spiritual leader is my hon. Friend the Member for Newport, West (Paul Flynn). What is certainly true is that Newport's renaissance is intimately associated with its cultural life. Thanks to the legendary club, TJ's, Newport is a cultural Mecca for the alternative music scene. It is a city with its own cultural and sporting heroes—Caldicot male voice choir, Newport Dragons rugby team, Newport County FC, the Welsh national velodrome and the sports village. Although it is just outside my patch, I am sure that my colleague in Newport, West will not mind my mentioning that I look forward to hosting the 2010 Ryder cup at the Celtic Manor. Newport was awarded city status in 2002. Some wag even suggested that with such a renaissance we should start to call Newport "new Newport", but that might be a little bit too new Labour for some.
Indeed worth every penny of our money as the ever wonderfull Devils Kitchen said:
Not only should they be paid more, but on Fridays they should be transported back to their constituencies with great pomp and dignity on litters carried by lucky constituents randomly selected from the national ID database, with cheering crowds lining their routes and a train of elephants and peacocks following in their wake. Once back among their people, they should be sent the fairest virgins of the town to give them oral pleasure (non-virgins may be suitable substitutes for Essex MPs) and their bedchambers strewn with rose petals to ensure a sound and restful night.

Even these modest proposals would hardly constitute proper recognition for their selfless public service, but they would be a powerful reminder to our masters of the gratitude and quiet goodwill that millions of us bear in our hearts.

Her site, well a piss take actually: http://jessicamorden.blogspot.com/

Update 2009:New Labour rubber-stamp that has never voted against the Government, who was foisted on the people of Newport from an all women shortlist; as a reward for her work in removing Ron "badger" Davies.

She oversaw the show trial on the part of the party.

Jessica Morden claimed £1,068 a month in mortgage interest payments in 2007-08. In the same year put through claims of £1 for cleaning wipes, and £16.82 for pasting table and spoons

She also voted to fuck over the brave Gurkhas, she voted no for allowing them to stay in the UK. Despite them laying their lives down for this land.

Strangely enough Jessica Morden also voted to save local post offices, yet voted with the government to close them.

Worried about local votes? She should be.

Newport deserves better than a rubber stamp.

Popped a wee small comment in the local paper. Both MP's have a right of reply, unlike one I don't over moderate like Pravda on crack.

I think if you actually research your posts you will find that Jessica has had a baby and is on maternity leave.

Well yes and jolly good for her I say, the fact is and (if you had read the article you would know that) was that Jessica never votes against the Govt and i quote myself "rubber stamp anything shoved in front of its cute little nose bless her"

In short she does very little - even when not having a baby - for the voters of Newport and roll on the day when she can be voted out on her ear.

Odds are that even when she comes back - a/ no one will notice, b/ she will still rubber stamp all documents placed in front of her cute little nose and c/ still be a party hack that made from sticking the knife in Ron Davies.

Toodle Pip ol chap.
