Australia - Discovered by Islam according to Sheik Al-Hilali

Now according to Sheik Al-Hilali, seems that it was not the late Capt. Cook who discovered Australia. No rather it was Afgan muslims. Yes it would appear that according to the Sheik our history is completely wrong, we need to re-write all the history books and hand over Australia to the Umma. Oh and get all that uncovered meat covered up as well.

Its not often that we get a moonbat of the first order decide that he is going to rewrite history, but reading this guys ravings gave me a laugh or two. Although that said we have a fair few moonbats who revise history here in the UK, but anyway back to Sheik Al-Hilali.

Sheikh Al-Hilali claims that Afghan Muslims preceded Captain Cook in his discovery of Australia:

"Australia is an old-new continent. The Europeans issued a false birth certificate for it when the British seafarer Captain James Cook reached it. However, Australia already had the most ancient race of men on the face of the earth – the Aborigine people… They continue to live their primitive lives to this very day.
Some of them may live the old ways, but many others I am sure run businesses, wear suits and do rather well for themselves.
"But when you become acquainted with their traditions among their tribes, you find that they have customs such as circumcision, marriage ceremonies, respect for tribal elders, and burial of the dead – all customs that show that they were connected to ancient Islamic culture before the Europeans set foot in Australia.
Ok so where is the proof? Hang on don't europeans have marriage ceremonies, respect for the dead and all that?
"That is, Islam had roots deep in the Australian soil and read the Qur'an and called to prayer before the bells of the churches rang in Australia. The best evidence of this is the hundreds of mosques in the center of Australia built by the Afghans. Some of them were destroyed, and others were turned into Australian archeological museums, and still others remained unharmed, and they bear a history that proves that Islam has roots and ancient connections to Australia.
Again what proof?
"But because they did not have the proper conditions to continue to exist, such as schools, propagation of the religion, and connection to the Islamic world, the first generation of our Afghan ancestors dissolved…
Ah right, so no evidence is evidence in itself. Sounds like something New Labour would dream up.
"I visited the town of Alice Springs in central Australia, and found there a map [of Alice Springs] under the name Mecca. Alice Springs is surrounded by high black mountains, similar to the mountains of Mecca. Summer there lasts 10 months, and winter only two months. The temperature is above 50 degrees Celsius.
Ok go on...
"There are several kinds of dates and palm trees there. We did not believe that dates could grow there. Now that we know the reason, we no longer wonder. We found that our ancestors the Afghans were among the first Muslims, and they settled this area and called it Mecca..
"The strange thing was that when our muezzin [who accompanied Sheikh Al-Hilali on his visit to Alice Springs] stood up to call for prayer, the old people of the town came out, and so did men and youths, and they looked different than the black Aborigines. They were a mixture of Afghan and Aborigine, as a result of marriages of Afghan men and Aborigine women. When the muezzin called 'Allahu Akbar,' they said, 'We have heard this song from our ancestors…' When they asked us 'What is this song you are singing?' we told them that this was an announcement of prayer time. When we asked them their names, they answered John, or Steve, but their names ended with Saraj Al-Din, Abdallah, or Muhammad…"
Well now you go, seems the camels wandering around the outback have nowt to do with us Kafir letting them go free, instead the muslims introduced them. So not happy with referring to Australian women as uncovered meat he now plans to revise the history of Australia with a muslim slant.

Yes he is either misguided or mad as a hatstand. Most likely the second of those although I do remember a few years back a similar tale regarding muslims being the original founding fathers of the US of A, or the Great Satan as they now call it.

That would be hilarious if it weren't for the fact that his followers will believe every word of it. It's amazing how much total bullshit people will believe if it is told under religious auspices.

That's just about as bad as the Egyptian researcher who says the world must give up Greenwich Mean Time and replace it with Mecca time. And I bet you didn't know there's no magnetic field in Mecca either? These people are totally self-absorbed.

So true, makes you wonder what is next. Islam reached the North/South pole first?

Before we write this guy off, reconsider.
I sent an email to another member of the International Association of Law Enfocement Intelligence Analysts (See below the response) and got a response (See below).

There is more at work here than we give credit to. Islam is a religion of Prior Right: I have a prior right to your stuff. It is also a religion of acquisition. What's mine is mine and what is yours is mine by prior right if you aren't a Muslim.

We need to conside if this guy is laying the foundation for an information campaigned aimed at reclaiming "Muslim Lands". This may be a precursor to hostilities.

Hi Bill

While Sheik Hilaly is generally referred to as the 'thick shake' in Australia, and his knowledge of Australia and its culture, history etc is severely wanting, some of his comments are actually based in fact.

The date trees in Central Australia were planted by Afghan Muslims in the late 1800's. The original date farm is still in existence in Alice Springs and is quite a tourist attraction. Also around this time (1867 -1910) the Afghans brought in their camels as a means of transporting goods through the hostile desert terrain, especially during the construction of the Adelaide to Alice Springs railroad and the overland telegraph. The importance of the Afghan effort to this is reflected in the naming of the long distance train through Central Australia as The Ghan. When the majority of the Afghans left Australia the camels were let loose or shot. Those that remained have evolved into a feral animal that has thrived in the Australian environment. They are generally regarded as the worlds most pure strain of camel and virtually disease free. They have become another tourist attraction in their own right.

The Afghans first arrived in South Australia in 1838.

Around the time of the WWI there were only about 3000 Muslims in Australia. As a result of the White Australia policy no 'Asian' or coloured Muslims were able to migrate to Australia, although the population was eventually boosted by refugees from the Balkan region (Albanians etc) as they were regarded as European. This policy has obviously changed or Sheik Hilaly wouldn't be here.

Makassan fishermen are known to have visited the northern parts of Australia since at least the 1800's and possibly upto 300 years prior. This is reflected in Aboriginal art which clearly show their praus (fishing vessels). There probably was some intermarriage between the Makassans and the Aborigines, and the Aborigines of the north were aware of the fishermens Islamic practices such as prayer times etc. No doubt similar activities occurred in Central Australia between local tribes and the Afghans. It would be highly unlikely though that any Aboriginal people would have been reading the Koran, and personally I can't recall ever seeing a mosque in the Northern Territory or Central Australia, and I lived in the NT for about 14 years!! That doesn't mean that they weren't there, just very few and far between if they were in existence - certainly not hundreds. If they were built then I'd suspect that they would have been very small and fell into natural decay when abandoned.

Also in the late 1800's and early 1900's a large number of Asians were brought to Western Australia for the northwestern pearl diving industry. At least 1800 Malaysians were included in this population and probably were Muslims.

There is a plethora of research available on the net on these subjects, and some fascinating old photos.

Hope this has been of some assistance

Kind Regards

Good Morning,
Below my signature block is a new article that may figure in a class I teach concerning Ideological threats.
The Sheik makes the claim that
a. palm and date trees were planted in Central Australia by Muslim Afghans.

b. the Afghans and Aborigines had produced a mixed race of people in Alice.

c. When we asked them their names, they answered John or Steve, but their
names ended with Saraj al-Din, Abdallah or Muhammad.''

d. Australia was discovered by Muslims long before Captain James Cook in 1770.

e. Islamic culture could be seen among Aboriginal people.

f. Islam had roots deep in the Australian soil _ people read the Koran and were called to prayer before
the bells of the churches rang.

g. there are hundreds of mosques in the centre of Australia built by the Afghans. Some of them were destroyed and others were turned into Australian archeological museums.

Is any of this true or are we looking at Revisionist History here?
