July 21 Bombers - Ongoing Trial

Now this has just got to be the worst excuse ever in a trial: If you were testing a 2kg bomb would you stand next to it?

Expert Hans Michels said Muktar Ibrahim's story of detonating 2kg (4.5lb) of main charge to check no-one would be hurt was "amazing".

Prof Michels also told Woolwich Crown Court the devices used on 21 July, 2005, were not capable of exploding.

Six men all deny conspiracy to murder and to cause explosions.

They are accused of attacking London's transport network on 21 July 2005.

Mr Ibrahim, 29, from Stoke Newington, north London, is the first of the six to appear in the witness box.

He has claimed he wanted to test the device indoors to make sure no-one would be hurt.

Oh dear. If he is going to get a not guilty verdict on this trial I think Muktah Said Ibrahim needs to come up with a better excuse than that one. He should try the old classic that Toyin did, blame the white man. Maybe claim its all a police stitch up, thats a common one that people of a certain faith starting with "m" tend to claim.
Mr Ibrahim has admitted making the homemade hydrogen peroxide and chapatti flour devices, but insisted none of them was capable of causing injury.
Right, so I am sure the opposing QC need not be a legal wizz to ask the obvious question of why make the bombs in the first place then? The whole point is that it go's off with a bang, or am I missing the whole bomb building point here?

If the excuses offered by the rest of this shower are as poor as this chaps, then they shall be seeing the inside of a cell for a long time.

Mr Ibrahim, of Stoke Newington, north London, is on trial with Mr Asiedu, 33 and Hussein Osman, 28, both of no fixed address; Yassin Omar, 26, of New Southgate, north London; Ramzi Mohammed, 25, of North Kensington, west London; and Adel Yahya, 24, of Tottenham, north London.

All deny charges of conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions likely to endanger life, although they do need better excuses. Mind you just look at that face, methinks he is not the brightest bulb in the pack.

Not sure if these chaps follow a certain religion of peace or not as the BBC doesn't say. No mention of the "M" word. Although the names do give one a clue.
