Salman Rushdie - sorry Sir Salman Rushdie

Salman Rushdie is being threatened with death by radical moslems and not for the first time, seems that our moslem brethren have their panties in a bunch over him being given a knighthood by the Queen.

Well if they are not happy about it tough, stop the bottom lip quivering and deal with it, our nation decides who gets a knighthood and not the Umma, its down to us kaffir to decide on our honours.

**And they are off, yep the Sir Salman Rushdie story is no a fully grown Islamic crisis, on a par with the Mo toons of the other year. Well they have cried, burned flags, thrown the moslem toys out of the pram, offered death threats and so all that is left is write a letter to The Guardian:

We see this as a deliberate provocation and insult to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world. The "honouring" of Rushdie at a time when the British government claims to be trying to build bridges with the Muslim community can only be seen as duplicitous. We regard this as a conscious effort not only to offend Muslim sensibilities but also to sow seeds of division. In honouring Rushdie, the prime minister has demonstrated how little regard he has for Islam.

As for the veiled(sic) threats of suicide bombings, well there are enough mad ass mullahs out there trying to encourage the gullible to strap on a vest and blow themselves to paradise - strange how the mullahs and immans never blow themselves apart can some moslem explain that one to me? - it just looks like Salman is a convenience excuse to justify bombings and throw their moslem toys out of the pram the usual mad ass jihadi nonsense.

Having said that were it not for the first lot of moslem nonsense over his book the Satanic Verses, and a certain Iranian getting a fatwa on his arse few people would really have heard of him. They do say that publicity no matter what type is good, as Oscar Wilde said something on the lines of it was better better to be talked about than not talked about. I am sure Salman is sat back cashing in the cheques and thinking, each death threat means a few more book sales.

One asshat in Pakistan came up with this gem: The Pakistan parliament called on the British government to reverse the decision or face further protests from Muslim nations. “If someone commits suicide bombing to protect the honour of the Prophet Muhammad, his act is justified,” the minister for religious affairs, Ijaz ul-Haq, told Pakistan’s national assembly, according to the translation from Urdu by Reuters. He urged Muslim countries to break diplomatic ties with London.

Tuesday 19 June 2007 - Salman Rushdie earned notoriety throughout the world amongst Muslims for the highly insulting and vilifying manner in which he portrayed early Islamic figures. The granting of a knighthood to him can only do further harm to our country's image in the Muslim world. The MCB considers it yet another example of insensitivity to Muslim opinion that will only result in their further alienation.

"In the face of such provocation, the MCB urges Muslims everywhere to exercise calm and restraint. The best way to honour our beloved Prophet is to remember him, and tell fellow human beings of his love, compassion and mercy." - No mention of moslem attacks and planned attacks by moslems here in the UK.

Last night, a senior Labour Muslim peer appealed to ministers to put the award on hold and revealed that Muslim British businesses were trying to organise a nationwide shutdown in protest over the knighthood.

Lord Ahmed of Rotherham told The Daily Telegraph: ''I would urge and plead with all Muslims around the world to remain calm." But he warned that honouring the author put "Her Majesty the Queen in a very difficult position" as head of the Church of England as The Satanic Verses had offended Christianity as well as Islam.

ISLAMABAD - Pakistani Islamic scholars honoured Osama bin Laden today in response to Britain’s knighthood for Salman Rushdie, as a senior ruling party member said he would not hesitate to kill the novelist.

The Pakistani Ulema Council, a private body that claims to be the biggest of its kind in the country with 2,000 scholars, said it had given Bin Laden the title "Saifullah", or Sword of Allah, its top accolade.
