The BBC is to spend a massive £18 million on a new digital Gaelic language channel for just 92,000 speakers - despite being forced to make £2 billion worth of cuts.
MPs were told about the UK-wide service just days after the corporation announced it was slashing 1,800 jobs and selling its home of 47 years, the landmark Television Centre in London.
Now the BBC faces a new wave of protest if they spend a colossal £194 per potential viewer - £39 more than the annual £135 licence fee - in a country where the second language is Polish with a million speakers.
**They might get better value for money if they set up a channel for the Poles.

Alas they have it on in my works, but I am managing to guide them towards another news station.
