Don't defy the state: Nick Hogan fined over smoking ban.

New Labour law enforced no matter the cost even if no one complains, shame they fail to keep the streets safe, unless the Home Sec. pop's out for a kebab that is...

The first publican to be convicted after challenging the smoking ban is today facing a £10,000 legal bill.
Nick Hogan, 40, was taken to court after repeatedly flouting rules by letting customers light up in his pubs in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
He pleaded not guilty, claiming he had "advised" customers about the ban and left them to decide whether to act on it.
But in the first conviction of its kind a district judge condemned Hogan for "flagrant breaches" of the law. Another landlord, from Blackpool, defied the smoking ban but last year admitted the charges in court. A Gloucestershire landlord who pleaded not guilty to defying the ban was acquitted.

You think you have problems - Canuckistan has Human Rights Commission that does not require warrants in order to conduct search and seizure. Places the burden of proof on the accused to prove themselves innocent. Convicts solely on the basis of whether the complainant had hurt feelings, well the list of totalitarian abuses goes on and on.

Another example of Labour party multiculturalism

As with the attempted beheading of the muslim soldier, it gives a reminder that the largest victims of Islamic agression is fellow muslims.

It's everywhere ey, the state passes laws and refuses to enforce them themselves, but makes the little guy do the dirty work and pay the price.
