New Labour policing. Frank Gibson 82 guilty of attacking to fit youg policemen.

Here we see Frank Gibson, who at age 82 walks with a stick.

When Frank Gibson saw flashing blue lights in his mirror as he drove home from midnight mass on Christmas Eve, naturally he pulled over to let the police pass.

He was driving safely, listening to carols on Classic FM, and the only alcohol that had passed his lips was a drop of communion wine.

So the 82-year-old was rather taken aback when it became clear it was he the police were chasing.

The next thing he knew, two burly officers had pulled him out of his Rover, clapped him in handcuffs and bundled him into the back of their car.

Yesterday Mr Gibson's misery was complete after magistrates decided it was he who was guilty of assaulting the two fit young officers. Yep, Mr Gibson who was held by Her Majesty's finest for 5 hours on Christmas Day was found guilty of assaulting two fit young policemen.

Mr Gibson's who suffers from arthritis was accused by PC Steven Cole of twisting his thumb so hard during the arrest it made him "yelp"

God help PC Cole should he ever run into a fit young criminal is all I can say.

But it gets better, by better I mean it sounds like a complete crock of shit and two PC's stitching up an old man, anyway according to PC Thomas McGregor, he "claimed" that 82 year old Mr Gibson had shoved him in the chest.

But fear not British justice was at hand to deal with this octigenarian menace of fit young police men, Mr Gibson was ordered to pay £910 costs and given a six-month conditional discharge for the assaults.

He had been stopped on suspicion of drink-driving. But this charge was dropped after a breath test showed he had no alcohol in his blood.

Mr Gibson, who lives in Gravesend, won an OBE for services to the community and is the governor of two schools and a trustee on two charities.

He said he could not comment yesterday as he plans to appeal.

But a friend, Kent County Councillor Sarah Hohler, said: "Surely the police have got better things to do than to punish an 82-year-old man. I can't believe it, we are shocked, we really are."

Another friend, headmaster Peter Read, said: "It's a devastating blow. I don't know whether he has got the strength to go through an appeal.

"He spent most of last year in a wheelchair."

Mr Gibson said that he had been driving "carefully" within the speed limit, although he may have driven into the middle of the road to avoid parked cars on a narrow street.

Mr Gibson said after he was stopped near his home, an officer yanked open his door, pulled him out and wrestled him to the ground. He was then handcuffed and bundled into a police car.

He told the court he had been too weak to assault anyone.

But the chairman of the bench, Mrs Angela Howe, and her two fellow justices did not accept his version of events.

She said that while trying to get back to his car Mr Gibson had shoved PC McGregor and twisted PC Cole's thumb.

She added that Mr Gibson had "allowed his temper to get the better of him".

On hearing he had been found guilty, Mr Gibson slumped forward and whispered, "I can't believe it."

An here are the two "brave" and fit young policemen who's lives were endangered by an 82 year old man who walks with a stick and who suffers from arthritis. PC Cole on the left was the brave little soldier who needed a hug afterwards off the Duty Sargent at the station. According to his account the poor lambs thumb was twisted making him yelp.

On the right we have PC McGregor, who was according to his account viciously pushed in the chest by Mr Gibson and who no doubt had a good cry and his tears wiped away by a WPC afterwards in the station.

Wankers the pair of them, a total fucking disgrace to the fine uniform that they wear.

Come on, they go over the top. Haul in an OAP then after they can get him on a drunk driving, figure they can stitch him up on common assault.

What brave young men they are.,

do you really believe he was dragged out the car and wrestled to the ground?!?! i dont. He would have had more injuries than whats listed!
and if it was some 22 year old bloke who pushed a copper in the chest and bent the other ones thumb should they have just let him go on his way or nick him? age is nothing.. he did wrong and got nicked for it. he knew what he was doing and the mags saw straight through his trial-by-media, coz he knew he would lose. simple as. whether someone is male/female 20 or 100 the police cant been seen to turn a blind eye just coz the offender is old! im sure they had much better things to be doing on christmas eve without having to nick him and probably did so as a last resort

Whats 2 miles long with an IQ of 50?
The police march in London today!

What's the best thing about the police march in London?
It's the first time we've seen police on our streets for years!

Yes police are doing a hard job - it's very difficult to do paperwork when you have difficulty reading and writing. It's far easier to beat up the defenceless and lie in court. No doubt the 2 pcs involved will be recommended for the Queens Police Medal. Look forward to them arresting OAPs for walking on the cracks in the pavement or with an offence weapon such as a walking stick or zimmer frame.

Dont judge people on your education level!!!
Is there something missing in your life that you believe everything the media says (what a sad lonely life you must have)

Why the hell was this man driving if he had so many medical problems surely with 2 foot operations he should not be behind a wheel!!!!!!! What would you say if he later killed someone because the old man dont know what side of the road we drive on!!!!

noone will ever know the full story so why are people so quick to have an opinion!

Mr Gibson should be given a uniform. He's got a lot more spirit than those two idiots.

These are a pair of fools, I'm happy to believe the media because it makes good gossip, and also PC Cole looks about 14, and a typical "Jobsworth" idiot.

Lock the buggers up I say

Off course they do, but an 82-year old fellow is much easier to handle you see. Bloody wankers.

Ok, so I bet your a PCSO, one of those chaps who love the uniform but only do 9-5.30 (with an hour to shovel burgers) and avoid the nasty shifts dealing with drunks that the "real police" have to deal with :-)
