BBC asks can Gordon Brown revive the economy?

Some of the most nominated comments and I agree with every word. Oh how the BBC must hate having to show anti-Labour comments on its website...
The destruction, not recovery, of Britain's economy will be Gordon Brown's legacy.

The man has cheated, lied and hoodwinked the British public for TEN YEARS and made the naive believe that he was doing a fantastic job, hence securing the misery that is three consecutive Labour administrations.

He sold off our gold reserves at unbelievably low prices.

I only hope that the British public will realise that the coming years of misery are Labour's legacy, not the work of their successors.

And...

The UK economy is in a catastrophic state.

Official Government debt is £620 billion. Then there is the PFI scam (debt loaded onto future generations) of £1,240 billion. Then there is the £390 in Public sector pension provision shortfall (they get massive pensions). Then there is personal debt of £1.42 trillion.

A conservative estimate of UK debt is £3.67 trillion (£124,000 for every working person).

With an unskilled, uneducated workforce, and a benefit class of 4 million, the UK is f...

Q: Do you think Gordon Brown can turn the economy around?
A: No. There's more chance of turning a supertanker around in my bath.

Q: What measures should Gordon Brown take to help people directly affected by the credit crunch?
A: Resign his false premiereship. Immediately.

Q: Has his handling of the economic slowdown affected your confidence in his leadership?
A: No. My confidence in him is still zero. I have more confidence in an amoeba with an abacus.
But it gets better...
Brown has managed the British economy during a world-wide economic boom, & has recklessly increased our national debt whilst encouraging a sea of mounting personal debt to ensure economic growth.
Imprudence Brown is now at his dithering worst..no idea how to respond now that the good times have ceased to roll, and totally lacking in decisive leadership.
He may blame the sub prime mortgage crisis but that was only the trigger to expose his reckless and incompetent economic management. Shocking!
And better...
Brown presided over a booming world economy and falsely took the credit. Unlike all our European neighbours he put nothing aside for a rainy day, instead encouraging growth through debt at both national and personal level.
Now, it's payback time and he hasn't got a clue. Undoubtedly the worst Prime Minister in British history.
The worst of all worlds...a dithering control freak with a charisma by-pass. pathetic !
This one made me laugh
There may be trouble ahead
But while there's Labour and spin and deceit
Let's (not) face the music, and lie..lie
Let's (not) face the music...and lie !

Brown has built on Blair's sandy foundations & led Britain into a multicultural nightmare of spendthrift debt ! He has clearly no idea how to manage the economy.
Removing the 10% tax band is ludicrous when the poorest in our society are moving into poverty. But no doubt he'll find a billion or so to help Zimbabwe in his beloved Africa !
Lets hope that all these people vote in the local elections and give the bastards the drubbing that they so richly deserve, then follow it up and do the same in the national election(unless Gordon copies Bob Mugabe and hides the results...)

Do spend a pleasant half hour reading the many comments where people are sick to the back teeth of being over taxed, lied too, talked down at, moralized by this amoral government, having facts spun, being nannied, bullied and buried in red tape and petty rules, all the while seeing waste and incompetence at record levels and a total denial of any problems what so ever from the Brown government.

Other than claiming it was worse under the Tories or despite them being in power over 10 years its still the Tories fault...

I shall finish with this comment:
I don't think Brown can possibly revive the economy. The current Labour party inherited a strong British economy from the Tories- ever since then, they have been by a sheer fluke and luck managed to keep the country going through increased taxation and basically selling off the 'family silver' -unfortunately, the luck has run out and there's precious little left worth selling.
It's a damn shame because its the ordinary man in the street that will suffer, not the super rich or any politician.
