A summer of misery lies ahead as council workers plan a series of crippling strikes in a dispute over pay.I like that phrase that Mr Prentis used, although I would rather Gordon feel pain, lots of it as he is hung drawn and quartered like the worthless traitor he is.
Rubbish bins could go uncollected, schools may be closed and benefit payments delayed as the walkouts disrupt public services in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Up to 600,000 workers may be involved in the action after they rejected a 2.45 per cent pay rise and voted to take industrial action.
Dave Prentis, general secretary of public workers' union Unison, said: 'Our members don't want Gordon Brown to feel their pain, they want him to stand up and heal their pain, to give them fair pay increases.'
The vote came just a day after chancellor Alistair Darling called for wage restraint 'from the boardroom to everyone, public and private alike' to prevent spiralling inflation.
Am I the only one who thinks that we are headed to a "Winter_of_Discontent", still that always happens in the twilight days of any Labour government.
.
3 people have spoken:
"Winter of discontent"?
Like we're all really happy with Nu labour now??
"This summers shambles"
As their own fucking Unions go on strike.....
Up the revolution!!!!! - Yawn!!...
The moment they go on strike El Gordon will alienate them all by blaming it all on them and the unions.
Whilst at the same time pouring cash in the wages of MP's.
Watch the rank and file refuse to support labour, the unions with hold funds and Labour split ever wider...
"Winter_of_Discontent"
I'd like it to be a winter of hanging and quartering.
Unions and Labour, don't trust either of them. The Unions whine and complain at the Labour government, they carry on and pretend like they're on your side but come election time, who do they support, that's right, Labour.
