PCSO's(Police Commuity Support Officers) - Waste of my cash.

The idea for the PCSO's was to help the police, to do the jobs that would let the "real police" focus on proper crimes and catching criminals.

Yet lets have a look at what the PCSO's seem to be doing with their time:

The latest bit of fuckwittery is they are now stopping Christians handing out leaflets in a muslim area of Birmingham.

The evangelists say they were threatened with arrest for committing a "hate crime" and were told they risked being beaten up if they returned. The incident will fuel fears that "no-go areas" for Christians are emerging in British towns and cities, as the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, claimed in The Sunday Telegraph this year.

Arthur Cunningham, 48, and Joseph Abraham, 65, both full-time evangelical ministers, have launched legal action against West Midlands Police, claiming the officer infringed their right to profess their religion...

A police community support officer (PCSO) interrupted the conversation and began questioning the ministers about their beliefs....

They said when the officer realised they were American, although both have lived in Britain for many years, he launched a tirade against President Bush and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr Cunningham said: "I told him that this had nothing to do with the gospel we were preaching but he became very aggressive.

"He said we were in a Muslim area and were not allowed to spread our Christian message. He said we were committing a hate crime by telling the youths to leave Islam and said that he was going to take us to the police station."...

The ministers claim he also advised them not to return to the area. As he walked away, the PCSO said: "You have been warned. If you come back here and get beaten up, well you have been warned".

West Midlands Police, who refused to apologise, said the incident had been "fully investigated" and the officer would be given training in understanding hate crime and communication.

Ann Ward said she rushed to help the man while the officers did nothing.

Mrs Ward, 59, a great-grandmother, said: "It was disgusting — any other men would have stepped in to help."

She spotted the girls kicking and punching the 55-year-old man in Ravensbury Park near Morden.

She said: "They asked him the time, then attacked him, hitting him across the back of the head with a stick."

She added: "I shouted at him to keep hold of his bag and told him I was coming."

The girls ran off, and Mrs Ward said the PCSOs radioed for help but did not tackle them.

Mrs Ward said: "They said they were there to report the crime to the police and take notes."

Whilst stats show that they do very little for their wages.

Shocking figures today cast doubts on the effectiveness of police community support officers.

They show that, on average, each one solves a crime every six years.

And they hand out fines for anti- social behaviour, public disorder or motoring offences at a rate of one every four months.

In several areas the teams, dubbed Blunkett's Bobbies after the home secretary who created them, failed to detect a single crime or write a solitary fixed penalty notice over the past year.

But not all bad news, as they do catch someone who may or may not have dropped an apple core:

A man with a heart condition was arrested, shackled, put in a DNA database, locked up for 18 hours and taken to court after police claim he dropped an apple core.

“Keith Hirst, 54, was approached by a police community support officer who claimed he had dropped the core on a street in Salford, Greater Manchester,” reports the Daily Mail.

Mr Hirst insisted he had not, and went into a chemist to buy medication for his disabled wife.

It is not all bad news though, the PCSOs also known as Blunkett's bobbies:

Have been awarded the full 2.5% back-dated pay rise that has been denied to real police officers. Sorry maybe that is bad news, my mistake.

With the extra taxpayers cash bulging in their pockets and a happy hard-on in their trousers at the thought of harassing the public, they rush out to issue smoking enforcement notices:

More than 200 smoking enforcement notices were served across England in July.

Drivers were warned last week that they could be prosecuted for smoking in their own cars if a police officer believed it had distracted them from the road.

Oh and of course, they are happy to let children die:

New evidence of the extent to which two Police Community Support Officers apparently stood by while others tried to save a 10-year-old boy from drowning has been revealed in documents seen by The Daily Telegraph.

Witness statements submitted to the inquest into the death of the schoolboy Jordon Lyon describe how Andrew Furnival, 24, and Helene Weatherburn, 20, "just stood there" after an angler pointed to the spot where Jordon had gone under the surface.

The conduct of the two PCSOs led to a national outcry after Greater Manchester Police claimed the officers could not jump into the water because of health and safety rules.

Oh, and there is the debate about their uniform:

UNION leaders called today for improvement to the uniforms of Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) in a bid to improve their efficiency.

Unison said uniforms of the 15,000 workers around the UK varied widely, with some allowed to wear stab vests or high visibility jackets.

But the Police Federation, which represents rank-and-file officers, warned that the move could build expectations among the public about the duties of the support staff.

**The new uniform? Well maybe not but it would be a lot more honest. A clown by any name is still a clown, like "Pogo the Clown"above...

Just one question remains with regards PCSO's, do they wear slip on shoes or is there a staff rota in the station to decide which police officer is going to be tying their shoelaces when they come on duty?
