They found a delegate who had never made a speech before. They spent three days training her in a set speech that linked all the acceptable clichés that would trigger applause from the audience. They also trained her to speak with the most compelling tone and emphasis. Her speech was a brilliant success. She had more ovations than David Owen.
This weeks Sarah had her speech written by the most skillful writers in the USA. She read it on the tele-prompter dozens of time to make the voice and expression perfect. They tried with a sample of delegates and measured the applause. Again it worked brilliantly. It surpassed immeasurably any other speech she has ever made.
Anyone can do it.
Well unless your an MP who has had a mini stroke that is. Not that his ability to come across on air was any good even before the speech went.
