I so hope that this is true, that serial scribbler for The Sun and chairman of a company touting for business in the National ID Card scheme is on the way back.

David Blunkett is poised for an accelerated return to Government after holding talks with Gordon Brown about taking on a role as party troubleshooter.

Following discussions at Downing Street, the former Home Secretary told friends he was expecting ‘the call’ from the Prime Minister last Tuesday.

However, negotiations are believed to have stalled at the last minute because Mr Blunkett is holding out for a full Cabinet position. 

The Mail on Sunday disclosed last month that Mr Brown – buoyed by Peter Mandelson’s shock return – was also considering a recall for Mr Blunkett in the New Year. 

They will use Blunkett to bash the so called uncaring Tories, lets have a look at the caring socialism of New Labour re looking after the elderly as put forward by Blunkett:

Older people should carry on working as long as they are physically capable, ex-minister David Blunkett has said.

In a speech to the Counsel and Care charity in London he said it should not be assumed the government had "prime responsibility" to support the elderly.

Mr Blunkett also said people should use equity release schemes to raise money from their homes to pay for care.

The former work and pensions secretary said it was important to raise the debate over the UK's ageing population.

In short he means we have pissed away the money an you have to work till you die.

As I said before about Blunkett he is a shifty fucker who plays fast and loose with the truth:

Former Home Sec. David Blunkett, who resigned over the nanny scandal and since leaving the cabinet has become a scribbler for the tabloid The Sun, forgets to mention all the facts.

He waves the flag for the ID cards, the cost of this particular white elephant is rising faster than the fag packet maths used to work out the Olympic bid for London.

Claiming that there was no way the cards could be copied - they said that about chip & pin and the banks were wrong on that one as well - and it would help reduce crime.

This from the man who gave us the community support officers!

Still he forgot to mention he has since last March been chairman of the international advisory committee of Entrust Inc, the Texas based security company which hopes to provide software for the UK ID cards system.

Why so quiet about that one?

All in all the UK public would have been better off had his guide dog Sadie been made Home Sec, instead of him.

Thats right a bloke who is on the fucking board of a company touting for a nice pay check from all of us, sees nothing wrong with pushing ID cards, just forgets to mention that. 

Much the same way that he forgot to mention all the facts in the last few sleazy scandals that had him kicked out the Cabinet.

If there is anyone who can fuck this government up from the inside its Blunkett, so I welcome the fucker back.
