All MPs have been accounted for. 646 copies of 1984 will arrive at the Commons on November 5, one to be delivered to each MPs office.
This campaign has been organised by LPUK, because our MPs need to understand that they are our rights and we won’t let them be taken away with a fight.
This book cost less than a fiver; are you prepared to spend the price of a couple of pints for your freedom?
On November 5th 1605 Guido Fawkes, 'the only man to enter Parliament with honest intent', sought to end the repressive rule of a King from Scotland who brought repression to the Country. The rule of the Stuarts ended on the battlefield of Naseby, with Absolutism subordinate to the rule of Law and Parliament.
The United Kingdom has now become riven with Cameras, unaccountable Local Authorities losing millions in Iceland. Who are speaking up for the people of this Country, as we are plundered as taxpayers to prop up the Banks, not the MPs that's for sure.
We want to send a message to Parliament, we want 646 copies of '1984', one to be sent to each member of Parliament - make your pledge at 1984@lpuk.org to send a copy to arrive on November 5th.
All MPs were recently sent a copy of George Orwell's 1984.
It appears to be a fresh stunt by those who want to bring smoking back into pubs. A note with the book vainly tries to draw a comparison between a very popular health reform with the terror methods of Big Brother. It's irksome for the inveterate smoker to use designated areas but it is hardly torture by rats.
The point fails because of gross exaggeration. I have not noticed any political party raising the battle cry, 'Put the stink back into pubs.'
See that thing way up there over your head, Paul?
That was the point of the gift.
Of course, MP's can still smoke in the Strangers Bar in the House of Commons. No standing in the rain for them. Maybe we should send them Animal Farm next.Next we have looking for a voice
Oh, and let's also note that, on top of his £61,000 salary, Paul decided to spent an extra £140,000 of our money on expenses last year.

I can see this useless MP plays an important role in the world.
Good blog, always full of wit and humour, a daily read for me.

Cheers Ian, Mr Flynn has his role. Not sure quite what that is other than as a point of mockery around Newport.
£100 says he gets a serious drubbing in the polls next election, if he lives that long!
