Who to believe: Turncoat Quentin "Labour sheep" Davies MP or SAS officer Maj Morley.

A minister has said he is "horrified" by accusations the government has been "cavalier" with soldiers' lives by not giving them proper equipment.

The troops were killed on 17 June when their Snatch Land Rover struck a roadside bomb in Helmand Province earlier this year.

In his resignation letter Maj Morley is said to have accused ministers of "gross negligence" in allowing soldiers to go into battle without adequate resources.

The lack of equipment, he is reported to have said, was: "Cavalier at best. Criminal at worst".

But Mr Davies, defence and equipment minister, told the BBC he found these accusations "surprising and very sad"

"The idea that we have been cavalier with soldiers' lives is horrific" Mr Davies said, while three or four years ago there may have been "serious shortcomings", soldiers now had access to better equipment.

The government had recently announced the purchase of 700 new armoured vehicles and commanders already had access to a wide range of vehicles.

"I recently visited Afghanistan, and 100 per cent of those I asked said they were now satisfied with their equipment."

So who to believe an officer & a gentleman or a duplicitious shifty scumbag who slides across the floor of the commons turning tail on people who voted him in on the Tory card.

I think I will take the word of the SAS officer, in fact I would take the word of most people over that of a government minister in Gordon's government, especially one with no concept of loyalty to those who voted for him.

Still I expect nothing less from Mr Davies, who is nothing more than Gordons lost little sheep following the one eye'd one around. Which is quite apt really as some years back Quentin was fined for 2 charges of animal cruelty relating to sheep on his estate.

When he arrived back in the Commons, he was met with retorts of "BAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" by Labour MP's.

Oh lets have a look at some other bits from Gordons little sheep:
26 JUNE 2007 - when he left to join Gordon's flock:
"a leader I have always greatly admired, who I believe is entirely straightforward, and who has a towering record, and a clear vision for the future of our country which I fully share."
16 MARCH 2005 - When still a Tory:
"the Chancellor has been losing control… His projections… have been consistently wrong. He has been wrong about both revenues and expenditure… The Chancellor took risks… he is imprudent… a great worry… very worrying… he simply wanted to win the next election—if he can… it does not matter what happens afterwards… the Chancellor went in for an orgy of self-congratulation… deceiving other people… complacency… he is not prudent and responsible, and not a person to be entrusted with the management of anybody's finances, let alone the country's finances… unattractive and frankly problematic… an absolutely devastating misjudgement and mistake—the destruction of our pensions system… We have not had a word of apology from the Chancellor… He was just incredibly imprudent… extraordinarily incompetent… extraordinarily naïve… desperately complacent… As a result of that self-congratulation and complacency, the Chancellor is becoming so cut off that he is beginning to underestimate the intelligence of the electorate… I trust and believe that something nasty will happen to the Chancellor in electoral terms before too long. He will have no one but himself to blame.
If he says one thing with regards troop supplies now, who knows what Gordon's sheep will come up with tomorrow?
