The country may be facing economic turmoil, but for some there is a silver lining.Bargain hunters flocked to an auction of goods formerly belonging to companies that are now insolvent or bankrupt.
Among the lots causing a stir were stacks of computer equipment and pieces of furniture in good condition.
Punters could also get their hands on clothes, bicycles and cameras.
The sale took place at Frank G Bowen auctioneers in London.
As well as auctioning items from insolvent companies, it sells goods from lost property and organisations such as the Metropolitan Police.
The number of people declaring themselves bankrupt increased by 7 per cent during the third quarter of the year, according to Government figures released in November.
New Labour - "I want them all dead. I want their family's dead. I want their houses burnt to the ground. I want to go there in the middle of the night and piss on the ashes."
