Two Met officers who allegedly stopped and searched a six-year-old girl using anti-terrorism powers are to be investigated by the police watchdog.
The officers are also accused of searching an 11-year-old girl and her father who were with the six-year-old after stopping them as they walked towards a bus station in south London.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission today said it was taking the incident “very seriously” as it announced a full probe.
It added that it was “particularly worrying” that two young children had allegedly been searched....
Well lets hope that they get a firm slap across the wrist and throw out of the police force.
The stop and search has to be one of the most pointless things done by the police, thousands of people are stopped for no reason under the catch all of "terrorism" and searched. Yet the vast majority of people searched neither possess a brown skin, or a copy of the Koran; two things that 99.9% of the terrorists reported on these days do have.
Then we have the other fact that bugger all of the people stopped are actually terrorists, if an arrest is made it usually turns out to be for say having something illegal on their person; so they are in every meaning of the word fishing expeditions.
The stop and search is not needed as one force has already suspended it until such point as the terror threat is raised.
