Bastogne Soldiers take fire while searching vehicle
HAWIJAH, Iraq – Bastogne Soldiers of the 1st Brigade Combat Team (BCT), 101st Airborne Division, came under fire March 15 while searching a vehicle during a combined combat patrol with Soldiers of the Iraqi Army in Hawijah, a small village west of Kirkuk.

Bastogne and Iraqi Soldiers immediately returned fire, dispatching a combined team to go search the building, where they found the RPG launcher, two RPG rounds, a cell phone and a black mask.
The weapon and other items were taken to a nearby U.S. compound along with the two men and their car.
