One of the major factors in the campaign to free illegally-imprisoned U.S. Special Forces soldier Jack Idema has always been his relationship with the Northern Alliance. Back in 2001, these were the Afghans who fought alongside U.S. and British Special Forces to remove the Taliban from power. Prior to that, and under the leadership of Commander Ahmed Shah Massoud, the Northern Alliance were responsible for driving the Soviets out of Afghanistan, and, later, of organising the only effective resistance to the Taliban — By 2001, Massoud and the Northern Alliance controlled the only Taliban-free territories in the country. Indeed, Massoud was so feared by Islamofascists that, just two days prior to the 9/11 attacks, he was murdered by a pair of Al Qaeda suicide bombers posing as journalists. This tragedy notwithstanding, it was the Northern Alliance presence in the Panjshir Valley that gave the U.S. a firm foothold from which to launch the 2001 campaign to remove the Taliban. Moreover, the efficiency with which Afghanistan was liberated owes much to the professionalism and bravery of the troops Commander Massoud trained — Given proper support, equipment and direction by Special Forces soldiers like Jack Idema, they easily removed the Islamofascists from power, scoring a very major victory in the WoT with remarkable speed. It’s important that we revisit this story right now because some of Jack’s Northern Alliance comrades (formerly his guards and protectors at Pulacharke) are now under arrest: This is a situation that seems to defy logic — That four terrorists escape Pulacharke prison on the watch of pro-Taliban guards, and the men arrested for dereliction of duty are all vehemently anti-Taliban NA personnel who weren’t even on duty at the time of the escapes. What on earth is going on? Well, the Northern Alliance in general, and those protecting Jack at Pulacharke in particular, are certainly an annoyance to the Karzai administration, so perhaps the prison escape was used as an excuse to settle some scores. In any event, it’s clear that the Karzai administration remains as committed as ever to a policy of imprisoning innocent men for the sake of political expediency. Jack Idema might be the most famous example of this, but he isn’t the only decent man it has happened to. So what can we do? Well, anyone reading this with their own blog can sign up for the weekly Free Jack Idema Blogburst by emailing Cao or Rottweiler Puppy for details. I’d urge everyone to do this, as we’re still terribly short on takers. If you want to know more about the story, Cao’s Blog has a large section devoted to Jack Idema. Karzai then imprisoned the anti-Al Qaeda Northern Alliance or UFMF colonels at the prison (which makes no sense). For a few days pro Taleban guards were in place, and it was during that time and the other guys were ‘off’ to be with their families, that the Al Qaeda terrorists escaped. So when the UFMF guards came back to their posts, they were suddenly faced with arrest, while the pro-Taleban guards had left some time after the Al Qaeda terrorists had escaped.

10 people have spoken:
The US and UK were quite happy to support the Taliban when the Russians were at war with Afghanistan. America poured money into groups resisting the Russian army, including Muslim Guerrilla groups that were hailed as hailed as a ‘freedom fighters’ by Ronald Regan. One of those groups eventually turned into Al Qaeda, led by the CIA trained Osama Bin Laden.
This revisionist history where the US ignore the fact that they created the monster they are now hunting down would be laughable were it not for the fact that so many people are dying in the process.
The sooner the US and UK quit meddling in world affairs the better.
Ok few point there anonymouse, lets just tackle them one by one.
1. War against the Soviets was a long time ago, the world has moved on. Once they were the enemy now we have trade with them. New enemies have arisen to replace them.
2. Osama was not CIA trained - prove that point if you can.
3. No one created the monster, other than the intolerant jihadis who want to kill any including muslims who dont agree with their hard line view of Islam.
4. Us pulling out and not meddling in world affairs is not an option, they have struck at our shores and the US, will do so again and will keep on doing so until we either convert or die.
5. Shame you lack the backbone to speak openly rather than doing the old anonymouse routine.
1. The Soviet occupation of Afghanistan was not that long ago. From your response you seem to think that the Soviets were once OUR enemy, they never were, they never did anything to harm us. Yes new enemies have arisen, Orwell was right about many things in his 1984, not only are we living in a surveillance society, but we are in a constant state of war.. if Al Qaeda did not exist, we would have to invent them…. Maybe we did!
2. Simply type in Osama and CIA into google and you will find a wealth of websites with evidence of the Bin Laden CIA link (some of them less reputable than others I will admit).
3. Yes, there are some religious fundamentalists out there who are stirring up a shit storm. They would not get a fraction of the support they do if the likes of the US and UK were not walking the earth fucking things up as if they have a monopoly on righteousness and they know what is best for the world. The Israel/Palestine issue is a major recruiting sergeant for the fundamentalists, ditto Iraq and Afghanistan.
4. Who has struck at our shores? Iraq? … No! Afghanistan? .. No! going to war on these countries does not tackle the problem of Islamic Fundamentalism, it merely pours oil on the flames. A completely new way of thinking is required to undermine these nutters.
5. The name is Clint, and I am also a South Waliean.
Well they invaded in 79, so yeah that does make old history. As for not harming us, well all them nukes they had were pointed at us. Not to mention vast amounts of troops stationed in former East Germany.
Already done the Osama search and to be fair bugger all their except for a load of consiracy nonsense, no hard evidence in any way on that one.
Actually quite a few religious nuts out there calling for Jihad, still have to disagree on it being our fault. They would be doing this anyway, killing and car bombing if not us in Iraq/Afganistan then it would be the evil zionist jews(to quote them)that they would be fighting against. Also they would still be looking to convert/kill us as laid down in the Sura's 2-9
Basicly any place not under islam is Dar-al-Harb - the world at war with islam - yes its fucked up but thats how religious nuts work.
You got to do something about that bikini bandit video man... everytime i check your site it starts playing... IT IS DOING MY HEAD IN!
Thats what happens when you use a slightly different player than the You Tube standard, dug out the original code and re-posted.
So it should sit there and be quiet until played - I hope!
tis silent now!

The bulk of U.S. cash went to Massoud's guys in the Panjshir Valley. Massoud stood for democracy, women's freedom and human decency. He was an honourable man. On one occasion, Massoud's car was stopped at a roadblock by a 16-year-old Russian conscript. The boy was obviously terrified when he realised the size of the fish he'd 'caught', but he still tried to make an arrest. Massoud's response was to push the boy's gun to one side and tell him that he wasn't his (Massoud's) or the Afghan people's enemy. Massoud drove off and the Russian kid lived. You know, anonymous moonbat, as opposed to being kidnapped and having his head sawed off on videotape. It was men like Massoud who the U.S. were funding in Soviet-occupied Afghanistan. Now, maybe it's true that some of the cash wound up in the hands of Islamofascists, but the hope, back then, was that guys like Massoud would prevail in post-Soviet Afghanistan.
"This revisionist history where the US ignore the fact that they created the monster they are now hunting down would be laughable were it not for the fact that so many people are dying in the process."
You're calling what I write (I'm the guy who does these blogbursts) 'revisionist history'? And just how close are you to anyone who's fought with the men Massoud trained? Huh? I suggest you put down your Independent, prick, and smell the coffee -- Everyone working to free Jack Idema has bothered themselves to talk with the people who actually lived through the events you seem to think amount to nothing more than a U.S. foreign policy cock-up. And, let me tell you, Massoud's people were *very* glad to get their hands on the U.S. Stinger missiles they used on Soviet helicopters. They were also glad to get their hands on guys like Jack, who was willing to use the last of his medical supplies treating injured NA soldiers. This is really how we build alliances in the Muslim world -- Not by whining about the 'plight' of Palestinians and 'dialogue' with Iran and Syria, but through the expertise of men like Idema and the fact that they're willing to fight with our real allies (NA, the Iraqi Kurds); to fight with them, to bleed with them, and, if necessary, to die with them.
"The sooner the US and UK quit meddling in world affairs the better."
... But that's exactly what the U.S. and U.K. were doing in 2001. You know, prior to when Afghanistan attacked us on 9/11. That was the moment when Jack Idema (retired from SF at that time) shipped out to help the NA bring the Taliban down. Bluffer's tip: if Islamofascists want us to stop 'meddling' in their affairs, it might be wise for them to not, you know, slaughter thousands of our civilians ... Or did you forget about 9/11? Or is it just that moonbat scum like you would rather crawl on your bellies begging for Osama to 'forgive' you than fight back when attacked?
Truly, it sickens me to think I have to share a world with cowardly creatures like you.
"1. The Soviet occupation of Afghanistan was not that long ago. From your response you seem to think that the Soviets were once OUR enemy, they never were, they never did anything to harm us. Maybe we did!"
... So the Soviets weren't our enemies? Well, damn, but I suppose all those nuclear warheads the commie bastards had pointing at our cities were just -- what? -- a gesture of peace? ... But maybe we invented AQ? Did we also invent 9/11? Or 7/7? Well, maybe so. Maybe the WoT really is down to an oil-grab by BushHitlerHaliburton. Either that, or those evil, blood-drinking Joooos. Only, Cunt (sorry, Clint) instead of telling this to us, why not go talk to the widows and orphans of Flight 93? That way, you can explain to them why, although the last words their loved ones heard were 'Allah Akbah', the guys who ditched that plane were really a mix of oil barons and Mossad agents. Pillock.
"2. Simply type in Osama and CIA into google and you will find a wealth of websites with evidence of the Bin Laden CIA link (some of them less reputable than others I will admit)."
Believe the moonbats, for we are legion and our voices are many. (Some of them less reputable than others you admit.) Snigger.
"3. Yes, there are some religious fundamentalists out there who are stirring up a shit storm. But we're talking about the 9/11 operation. You know, the one that involved the murder of 3000 innocent Americans and Afghanistan's national hero. That happened before any of this 'walking the earth fucking things up' even began. Why do you think that happened? Because a bunch of Koranimals thought they could get away with it? Or because of Palestine? And, question: How many ordinary Afghans do you think care about Palestine? Huh? How many ordinary Afghans do you even know?
"4. Who has struck at our shores? Iraq? … No! Afghanistan? .. No! going to war on these countries does not tackle the problem of Islamic Fundamentalism, it merely pours oil on the flames. A completely new way of thinking is required to undermine these nutters."
Really? What 'new way of thinking' would this be, oh Wise One? Maybe feeding Israel to the wolves? Well -- hey! -- that might just buy cowardly fucks like you a few years peace and quiet. Only, here's the thing: After those dirty, Flight 93-flying Joooos have all been cooked in Iran's Second Holocaust, what's the betting that Islamofascism's appetite for death will extend to include Europe and the U.S.? Eh? Clint? Or can I call you Neville?
"5. The name is Clint, and I am also a South Waliean."
Hahahaha! But John Howard must be really grating on your nerves.
"Thats what happens when you use a slightly different player than the You Tube standard, dug out the original code and re-posted.
So it should sit there and be quiet until played - I hope!"
Fido, Fido, Fido. What are you doing? The noise annoys a moonbat -- The correct response SHould be to TURN THE THING UP LOUDER.
What backwards logic. We trained Osama bin Laden, who, at the time, was working with us. How were we to know what he'd evolve into, and that those days would 'educate' him on how the western way of life was totally contrary to Islam? At that time, he was a playboy, sleeping with whores and wearing a suit.
Somewhat different than the turban wearing Osama bin Laden of today, but lefties always ignore that point.
The other point that is lost on me is the 'America and Britain should stay out of world affairs' bs. And let the KGB run it, I presume? After all, the CIA and FBI have already been infiltrated by those agents, but then you know all about that, don't you.
To beat us up for things that we couldn't have possibly foreseen is ridiculous, but that's one of the signature marks of moonbattery; it doesn't have to make sense as long as you bash America.
And yes, we are screwing up royally where terrorism is concerned, but that has nothing to do with the 'bin Laden was created by the CIA' bs. People all over the globe are capitulating to Islam, including Ohlmert himself, Eurasia, Tony Blair, and even the Pope. From what I gather, Saudi Arabia is now holding peace talks regarding the Palestinians and Israel. Anyone wonder how that clusterfuck is going to turn out?
But that's not completely an American or British problem now, is it?
And what about the leftists' proud example of how socialism works: Sweden? Has anyone taken note of how the Islamists have taken advantage of their multicultural society and now there is a serious wave of blonde Swede raped by muslim men? Who feel this behavior is justified? These horrible acts are sanctioned and approved of by Mohammed himself, and in the Koran and sunnah. Spoils of war, I think the infidel whores are referred to...or some such rot.
Anyway, thanks for the amusing comments, but I think you're off the mark. Anything to demonize America or anyone who would stand in defense of someone fighting the WOT. While you sit there like a little pansy coward behind your computer screen with nothing in your life worth fighting for.
Idema has lost everything; his wife, his home, his businesses, for fighting terrorism and the enemies of free nations. He has sacrificed more than sorry people like you probably ever possessed in their entire lives, and he's actually seen terrorism, terrorist acts, and seen terrorists kill his fellow UFMF soldiers right in front of his eyes; some who were protecting his life, they think so much of what he's done for Afghanistan. And Idema has done this sort of thing for other countries, as well, such as Lithuania. That is a sad commentary when people like you don't even acknowledge what he's done, or that Massoud's UFMF still exists, or are still acting as American and British allies, when the Taliban is not. I don't agree with the recent events where Karzai handed over five southern provinces to the Taliban.
In spite of the fact that America and Britain have disavowed their own agents, throwing them to the wolves, I support the actions of soldiers who understand what we are fighting, what it is we're facing and are willing to do something about it.
I agree with Rotty; it's a shame that we share the world with cowards who would rather spit on the war on terror as though it doesn't exist. It's easy to do that from the comfort of your armchair, but without guys like Jack Idema, the world is going to become a more frightening place; we're going to be fighting these terrorists on our streets one day soon. I really believe that. And then, will it matter if Osama bin laden was trained by the CIA?
No, you can blame your own sorry ass for not standing up against terrorism when you had the chance, and for bashing all those who had the balls to do the work that Idema has done.
