John Griffiths LAB 6,395(votes) 32.1% -12.5 (going down)
Ed Townsend LD 5,520(votes) 27.7% +11.5 (going up)
Peter Fox CON 4,512(votes) 2.7% -1.7 (going up)
Trefor Puw PC 1,696(votes) 8.5% -0.6 (going down)

**Now that is a narrow majority in both sides of Newport. A shame that more people did not turn out to vote, the chartists must be spinning in their graves. Still a well done to all those who did turn out to vote.

I would have like to see Labour lose, but they need to listen to the concerns of voters and have only just scraped back into office. If they wish to stay in for further terms they need to do a lot of work for the people of Newport.

Hospital closures, lack of dentists, Rhodry Morgan, The Welsh Arsemby, lack of weapons and supplies for the troops, lack of decent housing for the troops, lack of support for soldiers familys.

One glorious day we will rid ourselves of the socialist drain, spend the money on teachers, on the nation rather than dictators we play up to abroad(Saudi Arabia example) and regain control of migration into the nation.
