Impartial Policing? Undercover Mosque.

C4 has been making the news of late over the Undercover Mosque program that they broadcast. They hand over this to the police, who after looking into the film then decide to look into the film makers and ask the CPS to consider prosecuting them for stirring up racial hatred.

Compare this to the BBC who hand over a secretly recorded tape to the police. It shows senior BNP guys saying things like 'Islam is a wicked, vicious faith' and 'let's show these ethnics the door in 2004'.

The police and CPS prosecute. That trial falls down and so there is a second trial. Followed by inane comments from David Blunkett about how he was not happy at the result. Well never mind David, that's what happens when you have trial by jury rather than a socialist show trial, some times you don't get the right result. Still after being a crap Home Sec, David then discovered that there is always a career writing shit for The Sun newspaper once a week.

Now the police have referred it to Ofcom, the regulator for them to look at. Strange how that did not happen with the BBC and their BNP program?

The other question is the timing, after all the Undercover Mosque has been out for some time. Strange how this follows the calls by unelected PM Brown not to refer to moslems when talking about terror. Not that I think that there may be any pressure from government on the police with regards this, heaven forbid that Labour would ever pressure the police on an issue!

Mind you not that most moslems are terrorists, just that most terrorists reported in the news just happen to have a touch of the tar brush about them and be of the moslem faith.

Oh also Britain's terror level is at still severe, so no pressure to try and appease moslem hearts and minds from those in power I am sure!

If as they claim these preachers of peace were misrepresented, then why in the name of Allah are they not suing? I mean inshalla they claim to have a just cause so God will see that justice is done?
The CPS was also asked by the police to consider whether a prosecution under the Public Order Act 1986 should be brought against Channel 4 for broadcasting a programme including material likely to stir up racial hatred. Miss David advised West Midlands Police that on the evidence available, there was insufficient evidence that racial hatred had been stirred up as a direct consequence of the programme. It would also be necessary to identify a key individual responsible for doing this together with an intent to stir up racial hatred, which was not possible.

West Midlands Police have taken account of this advice and explored options available to them and has now referred the matter to the broadcasting regulators Ofcom as a formal complaint.
**Update from Theo Spark:
Weak and posturing teachers in failing schools- Weak and posturing police chiefs in a failed police service

On the topic of the Police and CPS decision to ignore the inflammatory racial and religious incitement recorded in a TV documentary, turning the blame on the programme makers instead, Peter Coburn wrote this comment to the Daily Telegraph on 11/08/2007

“At school we despised the weak teachers, who were too frightened to reprimand the real wrong-doers, but who told the injured party not to "tell tales" (and strutted about while they did so).

Well the police and the CPS seem to me to be adopting the trappings of the worst kind of teacher.”

At least Channel Four are prepared to broadcast the truth; unlike the cowardly BBC.

Abu Asama spoke at Swansea University in February 2006. His rethoric on that occassion was very different to what he preached the Dispatches documentary. Abu Asama is a hypocrite the biggest and most dangerous liar on the planet since Adolf Hitler.

If I ever meet him again, I'll kill him.
