Harriet Harman/Kieth Vaz - All black shortlists.

Yet more New Labour fuckwittery with this latest idea from Harriet Harman. She has been mulling over the idea of all minority shortlists, a bad idea in so many ways.

First off who has decided that Harman should speak for the voters and tell them that they have to have a member of a minority representing their party, all in the cause of equality of course? Also does she not see this as patronizing towards minorities? The fact that Labour feel that they are unable to become part of the political process and stand on their own without the guiding had and patronizing pat on the head from Harman & co.

The same I feel also applies to the piss poor idea of all women shortlists. Women ever since they were given the vote have been standing for office. Some get in, some don't thats the way of the world.

Indeed by pushing a shortlist, be it all women or all black or all any group what so ever is a bad idea. It just up's the numbers of that group in Parliament but I feel deprives the voters of a free choice on the best person for their vote, be that person male, female, black, white or whatever.

One can only imagine the horror and howls of outrage from Labour who are quite happy to promote all black shortlists - and quite a few MP's have been mumbling approval for this idea - should say the BNP put forward the idea of all white shortlists.

The double standard would be completely lost on them...

Upon looking deeper into this I see the name of dire MP Keith Vaz behind the scenes, Mr Vaz who is a "minority" himself is pledging to introduce a proposed law that would allow parties to have all black shortlists. link

So much for the best person for the job.

One of the recommendations being considered by ministers is the introduction of ethnic shortlists for four consecutive general elections.

Race discrimination law would have to change to enable this, as any such move now would count as illegal positive discrimination.

Harman told Personnel Today: "The commissioned report is specifically linked to political parties [and not employers generally]."

The government is holding talks with a leading black pressure group to see whether any future change in the law to let parties choose parliamentary candidates from shortlists made up entirely of ethnic-minority candidates could work in practice, Harriet Harman, Labour's deputy leader, said yesterday.

After Ms Harman, also secretary of state for equalities, revealed to conference that she had called in Operation Black Vote, its director, Simon Woolley, welcomed the move as necessary and urgent. The Conservatives had a better record in recent months than Labour in getting ethnic minority candidates into safe or winnable seats, he told the Guardian.

I stand and watch my country
Going down the drain
We are all at fault now
We are all to blame.
They're all but flooding over
But we just let them come
Once we had an Empire
But now we've got a slum.

Are we going to sit and let them come?
have they got the white man on the run?
Multi racial society is a mess
Are we going to take much more of this.

Ian Stewart Donaldson.

It seems utterly obscene that Im quoting lyrics from a Blood and Honour band that today, make complete and utter sense.

How the hell did we manage to find ourselves in such a position that a gaggle of Duplicitous, Self rightious, Pretentious, Nu Labour politicians, are on the verge of introducing legislation every bit as racist as that of anything the B.N.P. advocate.

Still, no doubt Vaz - Harmon, and other Nu Labour cretins, will twist the facts so that it is everybody else, and not them, who are in the wrong here!.

Perhaps next time I'll quote a few verses of Stiff Little Fingers - White Noise, and unfortunatly for the politically correct morons of todays Labour Party, thats an absolute shocker!!!.

Agree, New Labour are screwing every part of our nation into the ground and a lot of it is through incompetence rather than deliberate planning on their part.
