More than fifty MPs have laid off members of their staff recently.
The researchers being dismissed by MPs are largely thought to be family members and the mass exodus suggests that many MPs are unwilling to publicly defend or justify their employment.
It comes amid claims that new disclosure rules are being delayed to allow MPs to clean up their financial affairs.
Does the phrase covering their tracks, leap to mind here....Still I am rather sure that many stories on this subject will be filling the pages of the press over the next few weeks and months...
This from a government that still ignores the 88% of people who are calling for a referendum on the EU treaty:
Europe Minister Jim Murphy told MPs it was up to Parliament to decide "the right thing to do".Like lie over expenses paid to family members, like ignore problems with their own standards whilst then selling us out to Europe. An they still wonder why people don't bother to vote.

On the referendum issue they've now totally dropped all pretense that we're living in a free and open democracy.
