Unemployment up to 5.3% - 1.64 million unemployed, that is 1.64 million wasted lives in New Labours Britain. Now here is a real telling figure, the number of "economicly inactive" people of working age was
7.86 million.

Also trouble at mill as 142,000 working days were lost to industrial action in April 2008.
Average earnings down 8.44%

Total government debt up to £606.2 billion

Total international reserves $60.6 billion (~£30.44 billion; gold, foreign currency etc.)

Gross international debt £6.2 trillion

We need to cut all aid to Africa, cull government quangos, lower taxes and thereby boost the economy....It would appear that Mr Brown has his eye someone else, other than on economic matters.

Maybe this is what he means by his oft touted "prudence"
