John MacDougall - Gives Gordon another problem: A by-election for Labour to lose.

With the death of John MacDougall, another Scottish by-election is to be held in the Fife seat of Glenrothes, which was won by Labour in 2005 with a majority of 10,664 and 51.9% of the vote. Although I think it will be lower this time.

John MacDougall was famed for his lack of activity, nothing new there as I can think of one local MP called Jessica Morden who also does bugger all and I am sure that even in death John MacDougall will be more of an asset to the House of Commons than her.

He was also named by the Daily Mail as the third least active Scottish backbench MP.

He had been seriously ill for some time, having had had a lung removed - which has to be a first an MP giving something away without getting something back in return - and is not recorded as voting in any Parliamentary votes from early December 2007.

Yet despite this lack of activity in voting, he still somehow cleared a cool £130,150 in expenses for the year 2006/07. So he was busy on claiming money if nothing else.

He also voted for ID cards. Which makes him a bit of cunt in my book, okay a dead cunt with one lung but an authoritarian cunt none the less.
Although he did drag his one lung arse in for the vote for 42 days, like some one lunged lungfish hauling itself out of the sea to take away our freedoms: link.

I would like to thank John MacDougall for dying - not that I have anything against him in particular other than being a Labour MP that is an that not enough of them have joined him in death -and his presenting the dour Gordon Brown with another by-election to fuck up in the way that only he can.

Roll on the dithering, the fuck ups, the half arsed bribes, some spin and shit loads of lies from Gordon & co.
