Not a single violent drunk has been banned from pubs or clubs since a new law was introduced two years ago, ministers said yesterday.
They admitted no Drinking Banning Orders, which can bar a problem drunk from premises for up to two years, had been issued since 2006.
Home Office minister Alan Campbell said they were not used because of "an improvement in alcohol-related disorder problems" and a new strategy to tackle booze.
But Lib Dem Don Foster said: "The Government has failed on promises to crack down on the problems created by binge-drinking."

Their laws fail, so they plan more laws, more tax rise, more regulation all of which will hit the innocent in society. We pay the price through higher beer duties, more closed pubs, over regulations such as plastic glasses being enforced when the problem is government inaction.
