From the Daily Mail...No apology, nothing to do with me, nope nothing to see here, move along.......after an Old Bailey trial of the little boy's abusers this week, she twice refused to apologise and certainly had no intention of resigning from her £100,000 a year post, saying brazenly: 'The child was killed by members of his own family and not by social services. The very sad fact is that we can't stop people who are determined to kill children.'
During a media briefing on the case on Tuesday, Mrs Shoesmith presented seven graphs aimed at showing her department's progress, and boasted it had 'three-star' services, a reference to its council performance rating.
The graphs showed how many children in care achieved GCSE results, how many were adopted and how many received various health and welfare check-ups within recommended timescales.
Trying to make political capital out a crime that has shocked us all was a new low for Cameron at Prime Minister’s Questions today. Of course there is a responsibility on Social Services. An investigation is essential. The details of the repeated visits that did not spot the abuse are alarming. But to pretend that any political gesture will end human wickedness on this scale is a crude self-serving deception.

I can't say I am surprised at the comments by Paul Flynn - Gordon Brown couldn't find it within him to critisise Ms Shoesmith, or the completely corrupt way in which she is both the head of the department responsible for the death, and the watchdog of the same department.
Labour is a party without scruple or principle and interested in one thing power - and they don't care who they hurt to keep it.

Social work isn't just a job. It's about saving lives. All four social workers involved should not only lose their jobs and their pensions, but they should also be up in court on 'allowing the death of a child' charges. What incompetence! And what arrogance! Keep on blogging, Lone Voice.
what can we do to help these at risk children? surely someones alarm bells were ringing, she couldnt have fooled everyone. what about the child minder, didnt she notice anything? and extended family? i read the mother let the boyfriend get on with abusing him while she watched porn. its just sick.

For a simple start, make the punishments a deterrent instead of rehabilitation. That way these scumbags will think twice.
I predict they will all be out of jail within six years.
Dump the EU and and all human rights acts, and bring back capital punishment will be the first start.
All pie in the sky though and wishful thinking, meanwhile poor kids like this will continue being abused and killed.
Security is worth giving all our rights up, but what would we do to protect the smallest and most vulnerable kids? Fuckall according to Brown.

If these people had to feed and clothe their offspring they might be less inclined to get pregnant in the first place.

I am rather concerened that I feeel this way but am I alone in wanting to cut the throats of all those that failed this young boy.....especially that arrogant woman Shoesmith.
I hope she personally she suffers a long slow and painful death. She might just then understand what that young boy suffered.

I found tha article on the Baby P case in a German newspaper last week. Shocked not only about the case itself, but also the responsible persons like Sharon Shoesmith I started to read everything on internet I could find. Do you, my british friends, know that I found the article even in the British Prawda and in Australia? The entire world knows. How can you let Mrs. Shoesmith who is neither sorry, nor apologizes for the failure under her responsibility create your image in the world??? How can you let these people go on living their lives in - relative - peace? If she does not want to resign, fire her from her bridge club, exclude her from luxurious charity events, make her own kids experience hell at school. Il Belgium, the CEO of the biggest bank after its crash resigned without his golden hand shake of 5 million. In Germany, the "Bildzeitung" would have made her leave after 48 hours. Stop your famous "British politeness". Oterhwise you get the administration you deserve.
