Caroline Flint - Patronising the Irish.

Pic from zoooommm
So the Irish voted no to the Lisbon Treaty because of misunderstanding says Caroline Flint, Britains' Minister for Europe.
Irish voters rejected the EU's Lisbon Treaty in part because they did not understand it, Britain's minister for Europe Caroline Flint has said.

And she suggested that misunderstandings were fuelled by the campaign for a No vote in the July referendum. Voters wrongly believed that the introduction of the Treaty - which replaces the failed EU Constitution - would mean an end to Ireland's abortion ban or require its young people to serve in a European Army, said Ms Flint.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen secured legally-binding reassurances at last week's European Council summit that the Treaty will not affect Dublin's neutrality on defence or allow Brussels to interfere in the Republic's tax and abortion policies. In return for these guarantees, and the promise of an Irish Commissioner in Brussels, Mr Cowen is now expected to hold a second referendum in 2009.
Right so is she implying in some way that because the Irish chose to vote against the treaty -something not granted to us here in the UK despite New Labour saying we would have a vote- that its was a sad mistake and they just need some more guidance from their betters on what it really means.

So the wee poor Irish are all misguided bogtotters are they Caroline? Need to be talked down to by champgne socialists? Told what they should be doing and patronised to the fucking hilt by asshats like Caroline Flint.

Way they are not that fucking stupid if they rejected the shit sandwich offered them by people like yourself.

This is the same woman who said on Europe and that treaty.
Britain is an island nation, but our instinct is international - we shop at European fashion shops, we eat at pizzerias, we holiday on the Mediterranean. So why do people distrust the European Union and feel distant from its institutions?

Well it could be that shops unlike the EU have to get their accounts signed off something the EU has not had done in many a year....

Mind lets have a quick look at her shall we...

I shall quote Cicero who talked more sense than all of Labour:
The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. - Cicero - 55 BC

And what happens when the 'confused' Irish manage to vote NO again? Do we go to the tiebreaker. Anyway this treaty, as was explained in various blogs, is dead.. Kaput. Rejected by both the Frogs and the Dutch. Therefore by their own rules... oh hang on they re-wrote the fucking thing so, according to them, technically a new one.

and the people of manchester didn't understand that their council just wanted to charge them a few quid to drive their cars into town. so next time the fascist left won't bother asking. In fact I'm shocked and stunned that they bothered asking them in the 1st place. Most unusual for these cunts to actually ask people what they want.
