3000 apply for 150 jobs.

THIS is the staggering scene as THREE THOUSAND desperate jobseekers scramble for just 150 vacancies up for grabs—at a ZOO.

Yesterday’s jumbo queue for work is a damning snapshot of recession-hit Britain. Hopefuls travelled from all over the country to apply for basic-wage summer jobs including waiting on tables, selling souvenirs, and cleaning.

Bosses at Twycross Zoo, in Atherstone, Warwickshire, were stunned as the stampede ground to a halt at their gates with a FOUR-MILE traffic tailback clogging surrounding roads.

Worried managers had to close the doors after just TWO hours as staff held up placards saying the special recruitment day had shut down early.

But applications were accepted from EVERYONE who showed up and last night the zoo vowed they would ALL be considered.

Twycross marketing executive Kim Riley said: “We’ve been absolutely inundated with people and overwhelmed. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the queues this morning—3,000 competing for just 150 jobs, it’s unheard of.

“It just shows how bad a state the economy’s in. But thankfully we’ve been able to offer a glimmer of hope to people.

This is to become a daily sight up and down the Country as the early days of this depression move into the early middle stages. This will not change without a change of Government and the grip on power exercised by fat cat politicians, their union and banker cohorts.
