Vernon Creedy on the EU Data Retention Directive,

Ever more state snooping into our lives.

One of the Rt Hon. Members of the House of Commons a Vernon Creedy MP(Lab) wants to point the states nose into our chats, twitters and suchlike.

He has stated that the UK government is considering the mass surveillance and retention of all user communications on social-networking sites including Facebook, MySpace, and Bebo.

Home Office security minister Vernon Coaker said on Monday that the EU Data Retention Directive, under which ISPs must store communications data for 12 months, does not go far enough. Communications such as those on social networking sites and instant messaging could also be monitored, he said.

Mr. Coaker: That is an extremely fair point. Let me be clear about what we are doing. We are transposing the directive. With all due respect, I would be in trouble with the hon. Member for Wellingborough if I then said that we had gone further than the directive, because we would then be retaining data over and above what the directive requires us to do. The hon. Member for Carshalton and Wallington will also know the controversy that currently surrounds the intercept modernisation programme. I look forward to his support when we present intercept modernisation programme proposals, which may include requiring the retention of data on Facebook, bebo, MySpace and all other similar sites.

I accept that this is an extremely difficult area. The interface between retaining data, private security and all such issues of privacy is extremely important. It is absolutely right to point out the difficulty of ensuring that we maintain a capability and a capacity to deal with crime and issues of national security, and where that butts up against issues of privacy. The hon. Gentleman is also right to point out that this directive is three or four years old. Those people responsible for the EU directive might want those very things included in it if they were drafting it now, but technology moves so fast. If we drew up a directive now, in 2009, who knows where the technology would be by 2013?

Indeed, look lets get this straight we pay taxes on damn near everything, have regulations coming out our arse and now this member wants to monitor us in case we say or do something that may be against the law.

Of course you can bet your last penny that MP's, quango's and the New Labour elite will be exempt from this. After all they are the watchers, the curtain twitchers, the latter day Quislings. Although a better word for them would be scum.

Look let me make it simple for the Rt Hon Member, I hate him, I hate his snooping, regulation passing piss poor shower of shit government that enacts new laws by the day whilst unable to keep the streets safe.

I hate his lots constant tax rises for declining services, his government playing on people paranoia about terrorism whilst funding loony jihadists from Saudi Arabia, their condescending attitude of knowing what is best for us, then setting up fake charities to nanny us in the direction they want to go.

Mr Creedy wants to know my view of him, fine I would be more than happy to call him a cunt to his face, to haul him up from a lamppost with a piano wire noose along with the rest of the puritanical holier than fucking thou brigade like him.

He is an employee of the state, as a taxpayer I for one think that he has provided a piss poor service and bugger all value for money.
