The Government has 'quietly' relaxed immigration rules to help clear a backlog of asylum claims, it emerged last night.
Ministers have changed Home Office guidelines in a move which could see 40,000 previously ineligible foreigners being given indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
Three years ago, Labour promised to have dealt with the growing backlog of 450,000 asylum cases clogging up the system by 2011.They failed to enforce the rules, now they relax them to let in thousands of jihadists, benefit seekers and Albanian people smugglers. New Labour, bringing in the next generation of Labour voters.
