Perhaps their reasoning is that all the health'n'safety apparatus needs to be in place to protect the ill-educated cotton wool generation as they emerge fearfully into the big bad world hoping that Nanny State will save them.
I prefer Darwinism, remove the health an safety laws.
The stupid will remove themselves from the gene pool, thus saving the taxpayers money in benefits.
