Abdulahi Mohammed, if your not happy then sod off.

Hat tip to Constantly Furious who points out that:

Abdulahi Mohammed applied for a council house in Birmingham. His application was successful, and the council wrote to him offering accommodation.
Mr Mohammed was not pleased, however. The letter was - gosh - in English, and he doesn't speak English. Oh no.
So, having been received a letter from an English person working for an English City council to a person living in England about council accommodation in England, Mr Mohammed claimed he "could not understand" it.

So what did he do? Well, of course he fucking did: he took the council to court. For sending him a letter in English. For fuck's sake.

He argued that officials acted "in breach of the Housing Act" by not informing him that he would be removed from the waiting list if he rejected the offer. Dear God.

Well, presumably he didn't argue that at all, not speaking any English. His argument was probably some sort of foreign-talk nonsense, in whatever overseas jibber-jab he wanted all his future correspondence to be. But we digress.

To Mr M's dismay Birmingham County Court found in favour of the Council.

So what did he do then? Of course he fucking did: he took the case to the Court of Appeal. The highest Court in the Land.

We all know how this story ends, don't we?

Well, no, for once we don't. This one ends differently.

Lord Justice May, in an unexpected burst of common sense, decided that Mr Mohammed had been “properly informed” by the council as set out in the 1996 Housing Act. He ruled that, while a local authority was required to make sure letters it sent were understandable, it didnot have a duty to make sure recipients could speak English.

The Court of Appeal ruled that the council was not required to make sure that its communications could actually be understood by recipients. Well, hoo-fucking-ray. At last. Some sense.

A council spokeswoman said:

“We are pleased with the Court of Appeal’s ruling, which acknowledged that Birmingham City Council made available adequate translating services for Mr Mohammed. This is an important point of law for all local authorities in England.”

Anyway thats CF's bit now for my 2p worth on this cock, Mr Mo.

Right, now we have that one all cleared up an Mo has been informed to learn English or fuck off, we need to clear up a few little niggles.

Firstly if Mr Mo, should if he is not happy at having his letters in English should either fuck the fuck off forthwith to a non English speaking land or learn the language of the infidel; oh and pay all the sodding legal costs involved in his being a grasping money grabbing cock.

Next up we stop all the translation bollocks that every government/council and quango engages in, let everyone know that we will speak to them in English and if they are not happy then as per Mr Mo they can also go fuck the fuck off back to where ever it is their lingo is spoken.

Same go's for Welsh, Cornish and all the other ethnic lingo's spoken by 2 people in remote villages. Before anyone starts fucking crying about my oppressing their rights, well no I am not, I am from Wales and understand both main languages(although Swansea has a language all of its own, you need to go there to understand what I mean).

Although I am sure that this brief and rather bloody surprising outbreak of common sense will soon be crushed and the normal lunacy and PC howling at the moon will be drowning us once more.

Can you speak Newport?

Chap I know called Arfur Daley, hell of a nice bloke speaks it. Trouble is I can't understand a word he says.

And as for the Merthyr argot, 'nuff said.

You don't know how hard it is here in Spain for foreigners. We get NO HELP, NO QUARTER! If you can't understand it, tough!

I can now successfully understand written Spanish so its not too bad but when I first got here, I had to pay an interpreter 20 euros an hour to help me!

So who paid for all the legal fees and the cunt to get his translating done in court?

And Sue...quite right too. If you didn't like it you could just leave couldn't you?

Exactly, I made the effort!

I think this has been declared Labour policy for some while having realised the obvious truth in the divissive outcome of allowing those sucking the publics teat to spend their entire subsidised lives not even learning the language.

When will Mo be going to the Supreme Court and on into Eurolalaland ?
