The toyboy lover of the wife of Northern Ireland's First Minister Peter Robinson was forced to feign disease to end their relationship, it was claimed today.
Iris Robinson had an affair with young businessman Kirk McCambley, who is 40 years her junior, and helped him obtain £50,000 in loans that was not declared to Parliamentary authorities.
But Mr McCambley apparently told the first minister's MP wife that testicular cancer was threatening his life and affecting his sexual performance after she began to bombard him with text messages and love letters.
Peter Robinson's future as First Minister was thrown into doubt yesterday after he was forced to step down 'temporarily'.
