FIREFIGHTERS have been told to learn Polish so they can help confused immigrants who cannot speak English.
Officers have been offered free lessons and issued with a phrase card with questions like “What is on fire, are you hurt, is everyone out?”
Last night fire chiefs said the move was to help win the support of 50,000 Poles who have moved to Lancashire since immigration restrictions were removed. It is thought there are now 700,000 Poles in the UK.
And so here is a quick guide to some (other)essential words they might need. They are not on the cards issued but their use in the right circumstances will get the point across and maybe save lives(probably not but an excuse to post some sweary words)
(coorvah) - whore; bitch; also used like the English 'fuck'
(coorvah match) - used like the English 'for fucks' sake!' - As in get away from the building before you burn.
(doopeck) - asshole
(speerdalay) - Fuck off
(tsvel) - gay; queer; faggot
(goovnoh) - shit

Any chance perhaps that these Poles learn English since they have chosen to come here, rather than we learn their language and have liitle intention of going to Poland?
Just a thought.
