Why Gordon Brown will lose - Soft on crime & childkillers.

Whilst the victims of crime are left to "deal with it", ignored by the justice system who appear more concerned with the rights of criminals than that of those of the people they have killed.

Today's story of softly softly treatment of Soham killer Ian Huntley shows this to be a perfect example of leftist thinking. Rather than caring for the shattered families of the girls he murdered our state would rather look after Mr Huntley's rights, ensure that he is happy in his cell rather than seeing prison for what it should be - a punishment:

Ian Huntley is receiving extraordinary preferential treatment in prison to 'keep his spirits up'.

The killer of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman has tried three times to kill himself and the authorities are keen to avoid another attempt.

Officers guarding him have been told by governor David Thompson to treat Huntley - and fellow inmates - as 'extensions of their family' and use their first names or address them as 'Mr'.

In addition, 33-year-old Huntley was given a series of privileges within weeks of arriving at Frankland Prison in County Durham - privileges which others would take months of good behaviour to earn.

Prisoner JG5778 has been given a private room within the health-care wing of the maximum-security jail.

Rather than be forced to wear uniform, he and other inmates are allowed their own choice of designer clothes. He has a constant two-man guard whenever he ventures out of his cell.

Those officers have been instructed to 'humour' him and to play games such as chess, darts and Scrabble with the former school caretaker who killed two tenyearold girls in Soham, Cambridgeshire.

Three meals a day, chosen by Huntley from an extensive menu, are delivered to the 12ft x 10ft room where the pressures of serving a life sentence are alleviated by his personal freeview TV, a Sony CD player, stereo and Nintendo games console. Inside the cell are photographs of his ex-lover Maxine Carr, with whom he is said to be 'obsessed'.

**Oh how happy I am to see my tax money pissed away by this government showing such care for the rights of a child killer.

At a time when there is already concern about the soft life of prison inmates, officers are said to be furious over the special treatment of Huntley...

A source said: 'Because the management fear Huntley may try to kill himself again they are bending over backwards to make sure his stay is as comfortable as possible

'They've been ordered to address him as Ian or Mr Huntley. It's unbearable. The last straw came when the governor called a meeting of prison staff to express his concern over the way some prisoners are treated.

'Huntley has almost everything done for him and is waited on hand and foot by the officers assigned to his care. He's living a life of luxury. Yet the parents of Holly and Jessica are living a nightmare.'

But it gets better, whilst the rest of us - the mugs who have to pay for all this - have to pay for all our food, Huntley gets some mighty fine nosh laid on thanks to us.

An extensive menu, seen by the Mail, offers Huntley such dishes as Cowboy Casserole - chicken sausage with beans, potatoes and onions - marked on the menu with a 'heart' signifying it is the Healthy Eating Option.

Huntley chooses from the list every day and fills in a menu card, like every other prisoner, but incredibly prison officers are sent off to collect it for him and deliver it to his cell...

The killer has one-to-one education for an hour a day, learning computers as part of an information technology course...

In a fascinating insight into Huntley's lifestyle, the Mail has obtained documents which list his possessions and range of designer clothing. They detail how his cell is decked out with a blue toilet mat, blue rug, a white quilt cover and valance sheet and two white pillow cases. His clothes include Nike training shoes, Adidas t- shirts, Nike jogging bottoms, three pairs of jeans, a burgundy Ben Sherman shirt, two multi- coloured Levi shirts and two orange Polo Tshirts. He has other T-shirts from French Connection. The list also shows that he owns a pair of Fila 'shower shoes'.

**So all the stuff on being tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime was nothing but shit. Lets face it when a prison panders to the petulant demands of a child killer and put him in some "special bracket" then you know that something is wrong with the penal system here in the UK.

I could lambaste that, but the problem lies deeper than the governor of his prison or even the penal system itself. Rather it is the political interference of politicians who have enforced social packages into the system.

Early release, special treatment for child killers, constant ignoring of the demands from the public for harder sentences all of this and the massive waste of money on pandering to his needs can be laid at the door of No.10 and a certain Mr Brown.

Just think, the way it's going, you could see him here on your blog making pronouncements soon. Hirst can do it and now Huntley is taking an IT course.

The mind really does boggle. If there was any real justice, and common sense, the Governor would give the nod to the warders and next time the cunt tries to kill himself they would give a hand and made sure the fucker does it properly, whether he likes it or not.

Why are they so fucking concerned unless the instructions have come from higher up the food chain?

Yeah I was wondering quite why he is taking a sodding IT course - at taxpayers expense - its not like he is likely to be back on the jobs market any time soon.

Even in liberal England I am sure that with his interest in young girls they would be very careful over allowing him internet access, then again maybe not considering that Labour are in charge...
